The $125K "Elvis" (er, excuse me, "Clint") gun is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Sorta like those "Rambo" or "fantasy" knives by Hibben, only in gun form.
Personally, the auction sites are a joke for me. Every time I've looked for a gun I want there I find their initial bid and/or "reserve" price is above what I can get the gun for from a dealer locally, even before you factor in shipping charges and FFL fees.
I have bought 2-3 guns "over the 'net" and in all cases have been happy with the merchandise, and overall with the results, but the shipping and FFL fees have significantly diminished the experience for me, adding $40-60 to the cost. I'll stick to my local dealers and gun shows unless something really special comes along.
Case in point: I've got a guy that wants to trade me a Glock 19 for my Beretta 92. I'd love to do the trade, but it would cost me $40-60 to ship my gun across country (UPS "overnight" rules), and another $20 to "receive" his through my FFL. It's worth an even trade to me, but not $60-80...
