Interarms Walter PPK

I can echo the Interarms “iffy at best” comments on the Stainless PPKs, mine and several other officers were not reliable enough for duty or backup use, my PPK, however, worked just fine. Through the years I would require each officer who wished to carry a PPKs or PPK fire several courses to test the functioning of that pistol before approval. Also, the officer was required to shoot the courses with ammo that was to be carried in the pistol and that ammo recorded with the firearm information. Many of the Walther pistols preferred ball ammo for reliable functioning, most would function with Silvertip.

My Interarms PPK was a disappointment, to be nice about it. I had no hand chewing problems, it just didn't work very well. It seemed to be insanely picky about ammo, and even when it was loaded with it's "favorite", it would randomly stovepipe. I finally gave up and sold it to buy one of my all time great .380's, a Browning BDA 380, and then the even better Beretta 84. Since then, I've had 2 BDA's and 3 84's, and now an 85, and have had nothing but perfection with all of them, even the surplus 85 that of the three I have presently, actually looks used.

I have an Interarms PPK/S .380 bought new and given to me after I won a bet around 96 or 97. Works fine. Very accurate. Just watch the slide as it bites the top of big hands as Paladin mentioned. I have been nipped a few times. Fun gun though. I guess I got lucky and got a good one. Fun little pistol. I have owned a Sig version of the .380, but quickly traded it.
