Inexpensive pocket/mousegun?

"Theres nothing more worthless than a handgun chambered in .25acp regardless of who made it or price."

I take it your volunteering to stand in front while someone tests the worthlessness of a .25?

The best of the itty- bitty guns IMO are the NAA 5 shot revolvers in .22 magnum. Mine is accurate for a palm size gun, 5 shots, and .22 mag is better in my estimation then .22 LR or .25 auto.

Another option at twice the size (but that is still pocket small) is a Bersa in .380. I have one of these (cost me less the $150 used) and I have found it surprisingly reliable and accurate. I was worried at first that I may have wasted my money but now feel that I have acquired a great buy.

Last: I have had some of the Davis derringers and was never happy with any of them. I could not hit a 8 ½ x 11” sheet of paper at 10 paces with any of them. The NAA .22 mag is always 5 for 5 shots in the paper at the same distance. For my money I’d rather hit the target with the .22mag then miss with a .38.

Have you considered a CZ70.....?

One of my next pistol purchases will be for many of the same reasons that you mention (sub $100, fun shooter, something different, not something my life will ever depend on) I'm thinking about geting a CZ70. JG sales has them for $89, but by the time you pay s&h and transfer you may be slightly over. Might find one at a gun show?

Not sure if it fits your size requirements either, I think it's on the large size for a .32 ACP. These were issued as sidearms in europe.

Had a fellow TFL'er actually go into JG yesterday to look at them for me. Thanks Jason!!! Reports that they have some blue wear, with good bbls and triggers.

Let us not forget the Patriots who foiled the hijackers over PA and saved many, many unknown lives!
To all the patriots of that day....this comes to mind

TropicalZ,

Theres nothing more worthless than a handgun chambered in .25acp regardless of who made it or price.

I wonder if those were the last words Nathaniell Brazil's teacher said to him?

I'm sure the pawnshop owner who killed his sword-wielding assailant with the Jetfire in his pocket after being run through by the lunatic felt like his Jetfire was the most worthwhile handgun he'd ever bought.

Yes, I carry the biggest handgun I can, but I also carry the Jetfire or Tomcat at all times, too.

You might want to consider a used Freedom Arms .22 LR Mini Revolver. It is SA revolver with a 5-shot capacity made of stainless steel and goes bang every time you pull the trigger. Used ones can be found for $100.00 or less.

high std

a high std .22 mag derringer. At one point in my life, I did carry this weapon in a Tex Shoemaker wallet specifically designed for this weapon in which the weapon could be fired thru the wallet. I believe they still offered it until recently. As per some of the previous posts, this mode of carry was suggested not to cause an arguement---just to state that it really exists in the real world along with more exotic carry modes.
Some of the best mouse guns that I have tried have been the beretta 950, beretta 21, and the taurus pt22. The taurus loaded with cci stingers would be a good choice and the quality is there along with a lifetime warranty. Of the berrettas, I would prefer to find an old model 950 in .22 short as practice ammo is much more affordable than 25acp and the short round probably a better stopper.
As per some experience observing the results of perps armed with the jennings and lorcin models on calls that I have responded to, the perps who took the knife to the gun fight had a 50/50 chance.
The jennings and lorcin models are often found jammed or with broken firing pins. As I have no knife fighting experience, I would rather go into debt for a better quality gun or just stay with the high std and rely on 2 rounds of .22 mag hp.

My .25 is so great i haven't fired it in 12 years!
The only reason i keep it is it's the first gun i ever bought.
I'll trust my life to my NAA mini long before i throw my .25 at some bad guy.I'll stand by MY opinion that the .25 is next to worthless!

Better than Nohting

If you are bound and determined to have a cheap throwaway pocket gun, Jennings is hard to beat. It's what you have when the 'crunch' comes that gets the job done. A Florida pawnbroker I occasionally correspond with was attacked and nearly killed last year by a nutcase with a Ninja sword...skewerd and sliced multiple times. In the stress of defending his life, in a store full of guns, the only thing that saved his life was the Beretta .25ACP in his pocket that he was able to draw and kill his attacker with at point-blank range as he was being skewerd for the 4th time (approximately) = 4 headshots I was told. The victem lived, the attacker did not.
That's effective:p

oh boy, not one but TWO good reviews of the Lorcin...ick! My experience with one was terrible, true, it was around 80 bucks, but it was a jam-amatic with all ammo I tried, and I really tried hard to get it to work, the problem was probly the magazine feed lips..anyway, with great disappointment, I put it under my torch (after unloading, for you kids out there!) and tearing it apart...hmmm, I think I'll have to wait to get a browning .22. Mebbe the Raven, we'll see...
BUT, more power to ya if you have a Lorcin that works!
I'll never buy another one
