Inexpensive but good semi-auto shotguns?

Spend another $200 or so and get a quality gun. I would recommend the Winchester SuperX2. Like the guy above said, you get what you pay for.

The Charles Daly semi-auto is junk. I bought one, used it for about a month, and it would light-strike the primers. Just enough to make a dimple in the primer, not enough to set the thing off...very spooky when you clear it from the gun. I took it back to Wally world, they sent it in to the factory for rework. Came back three months later doing the same thing. Sold it cheap very soon after. Wouldn't touch another one. :barf:

for semi's, Remington 1100 or 11-87

if you prefer pump, Remingtom 870.

Check gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com or auctionarms.com. If you cannot find a decent one under $300, wait a week. Or two.

If I could afford to buy all the deals I see I couldn't afford the safes to keep them. If I could afford the safes, I'd run out of house and couldn't afford another of those :)

Life is full of dillemas...

Me? I look for : OLDer USED Rem 1100s, Beretta 302, 303, Win Super X Model 1s, A5s...

Ask Larry - I think I found them all - and handled them all in Tulsa last April. :p

I don't know the model number for sure, but I was at my local Walmart the other day and they had a Beretta semi-auto (the A3901???? not sure) in their display for I believe $399.99. It looked to be gas operated and if it is anything like what people have to say about the A391, that seems to be a pretty good price. I didn't see that model on their website, but you may want to ask if it is something that could be special ordered.

You might want to take a look at a Mossberg 9200. I bought one to hunt turkey with, and it feeds everything from 2 3/4" trap loads to 3" magnum turkey loads with no problems. It comes with 4 different choke tubes and will handle steel shot as well. You should be able to pick one up NIB for under $400.00.

I agree.. I went thru a few shotguns until I found one I loved. I had a Browning Citori O/U for a while, arguably one of the best guns around, but ended up trading it for a Remington 870 Wingmaster that just fit perfectly and shot like a dream.

The Saiga-12 is good if you can find one. It's a 12 gauge AK with a sporter stock, and it can be converted to a pistol grip if you prefer.

I'm just now about to buy my first expensive shotgun and when I say that I'm talking about around $1500. Until now I've been using a Remington 1100 and I love it. I'll continue to use it even after my new purchase. I think this gun is one of the most accurate shotguns I've ever used and it shoulders great!!!

Avoid all the cheap imports. Your shooting success and your life are worth more than a few dollars. Get a good American made gun and enjoy life.

I have one of these that i use in comp and abosolutley love it no problems in more than 4k rounds best buy out there

Take some time and really look around. There are good deals out there. I just bought a NIB remington 870 for $245. The more I look around, I could have shaved a little more off of that. The Mossberg 500 around here goes a little cheaper than the 870's. So for a little over $200, Mossberg 500 is a great buy.
