I thought this was interesting, Indiana is now the third state in the country to have an official state firearm: the Grouseland Rifle.

While the third state to have an official firearm, Indiana is the first to have a state rifle as the state firearms of both Utah (1911 pistol) and Arizona (Single Action Army revolver) are both handguns.

Well now that's downright interesting. The bill sure got stuck with a lot of riders, didn't it?

EDIT: Does anyone know anybody who owns such a rifle or even knows what it is?

I think it's something like a Kentucky rifle. Not sure what the difference is to be honest.

I have a question though. Isn't it about time Texas had a state firearm? :D

Also, I would love to see Michigan have a state firearm. Some kind of shotgun I think... Everybody know has a 12 or 20 guage. Or maybe a Glock for Detroit...;)

Interesting and an interesting link, the designer of the rifle designed the state seal, good one. Now for CVA to make a good repro with similar markings. :)

Yeah buddy, AZ and the Single Action Army! Utah had the pick of the litter with it's favorite son, Mr. John Browning. I find the outrage from the New York Times and such comedic. When are people going to stop this endless class warfare and mind their own business?

Has Florida selected a "state firearm" yet? I understand that, whatever it is, it will have a gold plated trigger and hammer (and possibly other parts).:D

Kentucky should obviously adopt the Kentucky Long Rifle.

Negative. John Thompson, the inventor of the Thompson Submachine Gun was born in Kentucky. (So was I, as a matter of fact.)

I think the Tommygun should be Kentucky's state gun.

Could even put it on the state flag, sort of like how Mozambique has the AK-47 on their flag.

And pearl grips!

It's pretty bad when the best known firearm from your state is Kel-Tec. At least Ohio has Hi-Point- when a Hi-Point isn't working, at least it makes a good club.
