That was not cheap. I had the same impulse to buy a Remington Rand a few years ago. It was my most expensive gun for quite a while and has only recently been surpassed.

Op, I don't think the "wear and scratches" look that bad in your pictures. Not much wear on the barrel. May have been carried a lot but not shot much.

I would have grabbed it as well. It's a piece of history.
