IMI Timberwolf 357/38

It was my understanding that the Timberwolf was made specifically for export to the American and South American markets.

I can't imagine that the IDF would have any use at all for the Timber Wolf.

While good rifles (and I always wanted one) they were, and remain, ugly as all get out.

Waiting

Sadly I am still waiting on the arrival of the wolf. Reds Firearms of Austin Tx lost it in the store (vault) along with the paperwork. Seller had to forward a copy of his receipt o to them. Afterwards I was told it was marked for overnight delivery and had been dropped off in person by the manager. That did not happen FedEx had no record of any transactions of any kind with that store. Generally Texas gun dealers are some of the best and most dependable individuals a man could deal with.

Heard this song when I was a kid behind a feed store. These old dudes were brown sacking it and playing on catgut singing SOME FOLKS LIKE POKE CHOPS SOME FOLKS LIKE HAMHOCKS BUT I'ZE DON'T REALLY CARE.

Welcome to TFL.

the Timber Wolf is a gun that I have wanted for a long time. Its like a Colt Lightning only it can handle really hot loads like buffalo bore.

Stiil Waiting

Maybe next week nothing to do but wait nutting up will not make it get her quicker. Hopefully that will be enough time for these guys to figure out which lie they want to stick with and figure out it's location!

It's here

Well it's here and man what a ordeal it was. They shipped it inside a florescent light bulb box with no packing slip. It was signed for on the 23rd. and sitting in a mop closet of all things. Reds did lose it for a few days but once they found it they did ship it out it just got misplaced by a new kid at the Arms Room. Of all the things that could have happened to have my rifle mistaken for a box of florescent bulbs is definitely one for the books! I owe an apology or two to a couple of folks. I did get put on hold but thing happen as is evident in this case Murphy strike again. Now the weather is going to be acting up and delaying my range time. I am to be waiting just a bit longer to send some sown range. On a good note the weapon is as described by John the seller. The wood is gorgeous black Walnut and the factory sling looks like I just got it from a dealer. Surprisingly it is soft and very supple for being as old as it is. Everything was there only bad thing is the box has seen better days but that is something I can live with. Will get some pics up this week since the weather is not allowing me to do much else.

Photos

Figured out what (PHOTOBUCKET) is!

The rifle and contents are as follows= The factory box is all there and for it's age it is in great shape just a few crimpled places but no stains or tears and legible lettering. The factory booklet warranty registration card were present as well. The sling is in fantastic condition with no scratches in the leather. and the sling swivels are present too. I wanted to get a some of the views wood of it's gorgeous Black Walnut stock and the front slide. There is one small depression on the stock and that is the only blemish I found on any of the wood. This is easily brought out by working it with a damp towel and an iron. Little trick I learned at the VA Dom while recovering that has paid off many times. Most think it to be a butt ugly weapon but as for me I think it's a good looking rifle. For a 20 + year old weapon it has been well kept by John the original owner and very impressive it's having all the original goodies that came with original purchase. Sturdy sights and the bluing is deep in color no pitting anywhere on her either. As far as action it cycles smoothly and has a nice solid sound when operating very crisp. I rolled it over and depressed the shell guide putting the 10 rounds in the tube with no problems it loads very smoothly. I cycled the ten rounds through it and they chambered and ejected rounds with no problems 357 or the 38's. I have several types of ammo to run through it for firing once the weather gets a bit better. I will try and get any photo or answer any questions anyone ask of me for now just waiting to get some rounds down range.
