I'm so mad I'm sick

gotta love the cheyney comments...

Anyways, I'd try and find a new part, as a welder I would think if you had to take that option you could, 1 bevel both edges(obviously) and then 2 use a TIG welder and preferably stainless rod(not for look, I tend to thing it comes out cleaner)to fill in, hit with a die grinder, then sander, then a bit of paint or what not. I can't imagine most people would want a welded part on there though, would think it couldn't possibly be as good as an original(would think they heat treat them and what not..?) Good luck, Can't beleive someone would be that disrespectful with another persons gun, specialy around a groop of people watching, would make me refrain from anything that crazy.

Value of a Savage single barrel shotgun--$100.... Value of a Savage shotgun belonging to a Grandfather.... Priceless.
I am sure you can find a replacement hammer for it. It is too bad you couldn't find the broken part as it would have made life easier. My sympathy and good luck..

I'd check e-gunparts.com like the other guys said. Those guys have everything. Man, that sucks. It's one thing to break something by accident, but not to apologize or ask to it fix it is another. Take some responsibility for your mistake. Good luck with the repair.
