Speedshooting at most ranges in NJ will get you tossed for good.

Carrying in NJ, yeah, unless you are on the job it isn't happening!

I am looking at the S & W 686 with a 6" barrel. Yes, kinda Dirty Harry looking but still a nice piece. What's the difference between that and the GP the OP is looking at?

OP, Both are great handguns. If you're going to end up with both of them sooner or later, then it guess it really doesn't matter which you buy first. And by the way, I'd take a CZ 75 over a P226. My 2 cents worth.

Also, just a heads up on your desire to own a CZ 75BD Stainless: Maybe I'm not as up to date on CZ's as I should be, but as far as I know, the CZ 75 stainless does not come with a "BD" designation. The CZ 75 BD is a de-cocker model with no safety. I think the only version of the stainless CZ 75 is the "B" model, which does not have a de-cocker, but does have a safety.

Personally I prefer CZ's de-cocker guns (SP-01 Tactical, P-01, P-06, PCR, 75BD, ect), but if I wanted a CZ in stainless, I wouldn't let the fact that it does not have de-cocker stop me from buying it.

I'm sorry but I have to point out that the CZ (or any pistol for that matter) does not use a clip, it uses a magazine. Clips feed magazines, magazines feed guns. That being said, good choice on the wheel gun, I own three Rugers and love them all!

I'm pretty sure they don't make a 75BD in stainless. At least I've never seen one, just the safety model.

I had an SP101, really didn't see the point in the thing. 357's were harsh, preventing a decent follow up shot. 5 rounds of 38's didn't make sense when I could have 16 rounds of 9mm.

Speed shooting will get you banned at the ranges here.

So, head for the border in PA. Not that far away.

While correct on the CZ in question, there are pistols that use clips. The Broomhandle Mausers, the Grendal .380, and the M1917 revolvers come immediately to mind, and I know there are others.

Ok, yes your right, I was more refering to pistols by design, not "rifle" turned pistol designs. But I get of topic. Let us know how you like the new Ruger!

Yep it looks like I'll have buy a cz75b to get stainless, but somehow I'm sure I'll survive without the decocker. I'm getting out of work early today to run down the police station to fill out the permit paperwork. Yes, in NJ you actually have to fill out paperwork with the police for each handgun you want to buy and wait for them to approve it.

You mean other states don't have to do this? ;)

I finally got my stuff after 5 weeks, so now I can go out and buy!

But..............In case the rest of America doesn't know, we can only buy ONE handgun every 30 days, AFTER we get a permit to do so.

I'm waiting for my Beretta to come-in! After that it will be a S & W revolver!

A de-cocker is not a must-have item. The 75B Stainless a great looking gun.

If you get it, I hope you post some good photos.

I'd go with the GP first. The 4" model would be a good multi-use revolver. I have an SP and am very satisfied with it.
Strangely enough, my next purchase is going to be a CZ75.
