I'm In Love

Brought home my new CZ 527 carbine chambered in 7.62x39 last night and I am blown away(no pun intended) by this thing. I bought it because I love my bolt guns and wanted another affordable plinker to compliment my Browning X-bolt chambered in .223. I had heard good things about the set stage trigger but it is incredible. Anyone ever shot one?

Congrats on the new love.:D. I was just talking to a co-worker today about how much I would like to have one. I have not shot one but I have no doubt it is a treat.

Kvon2, didn't know much about CZ's until I picked up a cz452 varmint in 22lr for trigger time , shooting indoors in the cold months. They make great fire arms, its built like a high powered rifle & very accurate . Good luck with your new love.

I have two CZ's: a 452 and a 455FS. What you just got is next on my list! I look forward to hearing more!

Never shot the x39, but I have had two of the 527s in 223. The trigger is easily the best trigger on any factory rifle. I just wished they either offered the trigger in other models or they expand the caliber options for the 527.

Have a 455FS in .17hmr. A sweet little gun. The bolt action is amazingly smooth. The gun is very accurate. And the price is quite reasonable.

I'm HOPING to take it out to the range this Sunday. I'll keep you guys posted. BTW brand new to this site and loving being able to have these conversations.

I've wanted one of these since I knew it existed and learned it was as good as cz rifles are always mentioned to be, I don't know if I've ever heard a bad word of their quality.

A light, short and handy rifle with adequate knockdown for whitetail or hogs, cheap to shoot, and from what I hear pretty accurate even with cheap ammo.

I bought both of my CZ 527 Carbine's used.

I picked up the 7.62X39 model last year and have fired it quite a bit.

With steel cased ammo its accuracy isn't anything special, 2-3 inch groups at 100 yards.

Hand loads using brass cases from federal and I can cut that in half.

I find mine to be light and handy in the field and using Hornady's 123 grain V Max and a max load of H4198 I get velocities of 2450 FPS from the 18 inch barrel.

I used it over the Christmas holiday to take a couple of pigs back in Texas.

Both were taken with the above mentioned handload and went about 100 pounds each.

They died right where they stood.

Kvon2: My Son and I bought a used CZ 527 in 762X39, several years ago and it is great little rifle. Ours seems to like that cheap Russian steel cased 124gr hp`s so well. I have yet to start reloading for it, we just buy the Russian ammo by the cases when we can. I use our CZ 527 in 762X39 the most. It makes a great hunting rifle and I use it on most everything from Coyotes, to Pigs, and Deer. It is also a really nice walking around rifle, and I use it a lot that way. IMHO the CZ 527 762X39 is a very good quality rifle, and the Set Trigger is really nice. And it is definitely one of my favorite rifles that we have.
