I'll rot in hell before I buy S&W!

"Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezuz!

Not this s&%t again.

Give me a friggin break."

Sorry to bother you, Roger. We'll try to keep in mind that the preservation of our Second Amendment rights is a trivial annoyance to some.

"Also, recall that TAURUS installed an internal lock quite a while ago."

So?

This agreement is NOT, and NEVER has been, about internal locking devices.

It's about the Federal Government and a privately held company making an end-run around the Constitution to put into place through threat and fiat what couldn't be done through the legal legislative process.

Why don't people understand that?

What's so hard about that concept?

"I AGREE!!! Focus on the politicians who "dream up" this "stuff'."

What do you think happened in the last election? Firearms issues hurt the Democrats very badly.

Unfortunatly, when an old administration goes out of power, not everything goes with it. This has always been a two step process. The first step was getting rid of the Administration that brought this about. The second step is either getting Smith & Wesson to get rid of the agreement, or getting rid of Smith & Wesson. Either is acceptable.

Glock, Remington, Beretta, etc. were all "squeezed" during the Clinton's end run around the Constitution. They didn't break. Interesting that an "Axis" power understood its markets better than a supposedly friendly British owned company...

Hum... You know, didn't we fight TWO wars against the horrible British? Doesn't that make them worse than the horrible Italians?

Come on guys! You know what this forum is about. All political discussion goes in the ... lessee, what was the name of that forum? ... Oh yeah - Legal and Political forum.

If anyone wants to continue discussion on 45 Long Colts question about an alternative to an Airweight [buy used], feel free to do so. If the discussion continues on the politics of S&W, then it gets locked, not moved 'cause we've heard it all before. Does it belong on TFL? Absolutely. Does it belong here? No.

Well said, Will Beararms.

Some of those who champion the S&W boycott ought to rectify their own habits before they trumpet their point.

I personally don't own any S&Ws. But if I liked one, I'd get it---as simple as that. As long as I still have my rights, ain't nobody gonna tell me what or what not to buy.

Why do we import, each year, a trillion dollars worth of HappyMeal toys and other such crap from China, if we're so aghast at their human rights policies?

Why do we trade with Mexico, where there are no laws governing child labor and minors are routinely abused?

Why are some S&W boycotters drug abusers? Aren't they aware that there is a good chance that their "milk-money" may have ended up in Bin Laden's pockets, and ultimately amid the rubble of the WTC?

My dad once fought in battle the country that makes the P99. Its allies in the last great war make the G17 and CZ-75. And yet I own these guns. The reason is that politics, past or present, doesn't blur my vision.

Twelve years ago I was taught that Russians were vile scum, and that they should be loathed and hated for their, then, radical political system. Today I am told they are America's steadfast friends and partners.

I don't know that many Russians; but this much is true: if I met some on the street, I would base my opinion of them on what I myself personally gathered from the experience, not on what others tried to brainwash me with.

Just to be able to SAY that is possible because some people DO understand what being an American is all about.

****

On a separate note, I tried the Airweight yesterday. I think the Scandium/Titanium/Aluminum alloy, or whatever it is that makes it lighter, is not heavy enough to tame recoil. Not with +P loads anyhow. Get a Chief's Special...ooops!...I mean a SP101.

Sorry, Mal H...I read your post too late. ;)

Rickmeister,

Nice series of thoughts that have NOTHING to do with the concept of preservation of the Second Amendment and how the Smith & Wesson agreement threatens our rights.

Please do tell, who on TFL is a drug abuser? You have some insight, a crystal ball, perhaps?

Russians weren't our enemies, their political system and theory was. Same with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.

Last time I looked, Soviet Communism, Nazism, and Japanese Imperialism were, as GWB put it (paraphrasing) "On the ash heap of history's discarded lies."

"As long as I still have my rights,
ain't nobody gonna tell me what or what not to buy."

I'm very happy that you feel that way, as well you should.

I'm also very, very sad that you don't seem to understand just how the S&W agreement threatens your rights to buy what you want to buy. Curious dichotomy, given your stance.

Options, my friend. Options.

S&W never told me what to buy. I could always look somewhere else, and they know it.

S&W, per se, does not threaten my rights.

Cheers.

All right, class dismissed.
...
Not so fast there, Rickmeister and Mike.
Break out your "More Streets and Roads", some remedial reading is in order.
