I'll rot in hell before I buy an S&W (Part 2)

For the record, I agree with Mike on the quality decline starting in the mid to late 90's... as I was in my Revolver Phase then. I also tend to agree on the traitorous bent of the agreement.

Roger, perhpas you're own feelings about the former (High) status of S&W clouds your statements... it does seem to permeate them to the exclusion of all else.

Why don't we all just completely boycott Smith and Wesson....they go out of business after 150 years....the anti-gun people love it! The pro-gun side accomplishes what the anti-gun side wants.

To me, ANY smith is still better than ANY taurus. (As long as it functions.)
Political, legal, and QC issues notwithstanding.
Compare current smith wheelguns to the guns they used to make, yeah, they aren't as great, but so what.
They're still pretty good, though.
The 657 I got shoots pretty good compared to what's currently available in .41 mag from other companies for less than $700.00
(As an example, the trigger on my 425 tracker was a JOKE.)
Yeah, I'd rather have an old model 57, but I just can't seem to track one down when I have the money.
My next gun will prolly be a smith 610.
I like 10mm, but can't stand picking up my brass up out of the mud.
Moon clips, baby.

Thanks, Tamara. You know how all big snakes look alike. :D

Actually, a Python and Anaconda were on display side by side. I didn't care too much for the Python; but then, I was typing faster than I could think.

I could go back and edit, but no one reading your post would know what the heck you were talking about. And then you would be forced to edit or delete. And then everybody will get the same idea and...

oh, waddayasay we just leave it? ;)

I just bought a model 60 with the "lock". Im happy with my little snubbie and will enjoy my gun...while others rot in hell.
Bring lots of sunscreen :D
Shoot well

Due to the antifreedom agreement I wouldn't touch a Smith and Wesson product even if it had a buttery smooth 8 pound double action, a single action breaking like a glass rod at 1 pound, and shot one hole groups at 100 yards. :barf:  :barf:

Handle, shoot, and smith as many Smith & Wesson revolvers as I have, Roger, and maybe, just maybe, you'll begin to understand, and know, what I, Sam, Tamara, and others are talking about. Haunt the gunshows, the collector shows, the museums, and the private collections for 20 years, and maybe you'll begin to understand the concept of quality control and be able to identify where, and why, S&W has been failing to live up to its history.

It's amazing that you are so "well traveled and schooled", and can still be so completely blinded by your political views.

Toss in some moderator butt kissing for good measure and your all set to continue your campaign.

If you "save" one person from buying.....what are you the Jesus Christ of the boycotters? You hold your self in pretty high regard. Not everyone worships you.

But that Should be allowed in a forum that came up with that RIDICULOUS *&* crap, where the name of a company is automatically altered when a person posts it. Built in bias, I would say. Why do they do that if it's not?

Sorry to get you so riled up Mike, but I will not worship at your feet and am sick and tired of you trashing Smith and Wesson, and your constant jibes at a company who IS making a comeback in spite of all your efforts.

You have failed.

----insert ridiculous reply about how the gubmint will take ALL our guns because of Smith and Wesson here----------

Edited because S&W isn't even worth my on-line time. Anyone who does a search and reads the threads will form their own conclusions.

Don't worry Buzz....they will lock this thread soon anyway, instead of moving it, like they could do with something off topic,
especially considering the title of the post.

Sure, Roger, uh huh. Whatever. You must know everything about everyone you've never met. I'm glad for you.

One of us has the experience and expertise to speak competently on this subject, the other one doesn't.

Others on this board are intelligent enough to be able to recognize that.

When Smith & Wesson trashes the agreement AND brings its quality standards back to where they should be, then they'll get my recommendation again.

If Smith & Wesson trashes the agreement and maintains its low level of quality control, they'll continue to earn my disdain.

If Smith & Wesson keeps the agreement and improves their quality control to where it should be, they'll continue to earn my disdain.

Pretty simple, actually. Not nearly as complex as you'd like to make it.

All you do is prove your bias every time you reply.

Same old story, same old song and dance.

Rag about the quality, and sneak in some references to your boycott crap.

It's getting friggin' old Mike.

The real world is out there. It's not all a conspiracy and the govenment is not out to get us all.

Come out of your bunker and smell the roses once in a while.

Give up your Crusade. It's old B.S.

It's not due to the "off-topic" nature, RogerC, it's due to the ill-mannered mudslinging the thread's devolved into.

Closed.

Feel free to try again, y'all; but this time, keep it civil, please.
