If you support the war, is it being fought well?

Been tried, still being tried. End result usually sucks, in my experience. I'll take one source who does it for free over ten guys who do it for money anyday.
Short of holding the countries from which the infiltrators infiltrate responsible, how would any of you suggest the suicide bombers, etc., be controlled? Unless you guys who are such brilliant military strategists come up with a viable alternative, then I guess our stupid old military will just have to plod along, as best they can.
Pretty hard to strategize against committed religious zealots. Not enough troups in the entire U.S. military to "control" the infiltration of folks from several countries engaging our military in Iraq.
Some problems just don't have really good solutions. Solutions that might work, such as nuking Iran, Syria, etc., aren't socially acceptable. Doing nothing, or governiing by focus groups and polling, as the Democrats are so fond of doing, isn't acceptable to me.

Not enough troops - well, that's a fixable thing if we take the war seriously. If you recall, the question of the number of troops needed led to a general getting fired because he didn't go along with the mantra of Rummy, etc.
On Dec. 7, 1941 we went to war. By Aug. 1945 it was over.
On 9/11/2001, we went to war. It is Aug. 2005.
We are still mucking around. Bin Ladden is nowhere to be found. Tell me that our political leadership are competent war fighters?

Back in 42-45 we were fighting 2-3 known haystacks. Today we are fighting an unknown number of needles in several different haystacks, tho we did seem to pick out one particular haystack to deal with. Also the type of warfare used then, when tens or hundreds of thousands of casualties were an unfortunate norm against fanatical enemies ('cept maybe the Italians) has evolved into pinpoint precision on our part against an amoebic type of jihad warrior, er, terrorist who may or may not be a known quantity.
Totally different concepts of waging war.
Since I have no real advice to offer the experts here, I can only infer from the ironic tone of your post that you feel they are less than competant? What would you have them/us do to "Win" "Stop" "End" this war that was declared on us and brought to us?
I kinda like the old, "We Win. We're now going home. See ya'll later." We know that one always works. Until the next wack job sends a powerful blast our way.

We sure as heck wouldn't be living as we are now.....
Unless we could talk with the joint chiefs........ or the top brass in the sand we can only guess and state what we think or feel. I try not to let myself get influenced by the media. They work it well and have the ability to either help our efforts in this war and occupation, or destroy it like some historic military lessons of the past.......

We sure as heck wouldn't be living as we are now.....

Of course we could always put out decoys. How about if a million antiwar protestors volunteer to drive trucks through the bad areas?

Me personally, if a war is declared then the military Generals should have 100% control over it without any committes by the pols. They could "peak" every now and then but stay the heck out of it.
The only part of "Vietnam" that I'm seeing here is 1) The pols trying to run it and 2) The bad press that only dwells on the bad and never shows any of the good.
P.S. Everyone stay away from the blue acid, it's no good
