If you could go either go to the range or the game field
with any US President, who would you pick?
 
I think the Bull Moose is going to have a land slide victory.

FWIW, I had a hard time deciding between Reagan and TR.

I went with Reagan because I don't hunt and since this is a fantasy thread here's mine....

Reagan: Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this WALL!

Gorbachev: NEVER commrade.

Reagan: Than I'll do it myself.

Gorbachev: Ha! Perhaps you "can't recall" the 40's when we introduced the AK and our army of over a million?

Charlton Heston might have been our president but members of the NRA are still a minority...even among gun owners, I suspect we're a minority among posting members too
 
Washington. Man has been my hero for a number of years, and just to have the opportunity to talk and stalk with him would be absolutely phenomenal.
 
I love how you had to make the 'WITH' stand out... oh what the difference in a word makes... ha!:eek:
 
Charlton Heston, no doubt whatever. He stood for everything I stand for, on guns and well beyond into other issues. We don't even have to hunt, just a sit-down for a few hours of conversation; along with his acting credentials, he was an intellectual thinker too.. Alas, that won't ever be.

I'd give anything to have been with him and Brian Keith when they filmed "The Mountain Men". Or aboard the "Bounty", renamed the "Hispanola" with Heston as Long John Silver and a very young Christian Bale as Jm Hawkins when they Filmed "Treasure Island".
 
Lincoln:

1. He got us through one of our greatest crisis.
2. He seems to have had an interest in firearms and was a decent shot.
3. Given his interest in repeating rifles, I would like to see his reactions to my AR-15 and my Glocks.
 
Now,that vote for our current president is interesting.I might be fun to get him out of his bag at 4am some late October at 10.000 feet,and give him a breakfast of Spam chunks boiled in oatmeal and a cup o instant coffee.

Then,if he got an elk down,it would be fun to see how he would do with gutting and packing meat.

But,actually,I think I would rather look forward to our next president.

She would be fun to hunt with!!And A big moose in Alaska would be a hoot.
 
Obama

I'd like to be able to show him our side of the debate. Antigunners usually have never shot and seen how fun and rewarding it can be. That is why we must all try to bring in new shooters to our sport. A lot of people just need to get over their preconceived notions of shooters and shooting in general. It would make me miss a great opportunity to shoot with some of the greatest leaders in our history, but it would be worth it.
 
I think I would choose B. Obama. Had a dream he showed up at one of my job sites to visit. Pretty strange dream actually, but had the ring of truth.

Another vote for TR. He was a man with true grit and was never one to stand on his own laurels. He gave credit where credit was due (so rare today :(), as shown in my favorite quote of all time.

Obama. I would love to be given the chance to introduce an "AHA!" moment to the man in a civilized discussion, afield. He seems very personable. It would need to be without distractions.

So, Edward429451, you haven't given any thought to this other than to make a political joke? Way to go. The temptation to make a similar snide comment the other direction is, I'm sure, on the minds of others here.

How about leaving your personal partisan politics out of it, okay?

An on topic comment drawn from a public officials public position, by way of recorded statements or voting record, on the Second Amendment is naturally, permitted. Party platforms and partisan politics is not. Just to clear the air and before it gets started. :rolleyes:
