Smith M&P340 and a Glock 30

i have the Glock and i like the Glock, not to big to conceal and not to small to not be able to be accurate with

.45 is potent without being a pain in the butt to become accurate with, whether it's from recoil or ammunition price like the 10mm

as for the Smith, i really like the size of the J-Frame and i really like the weight of scandium

.357 is a proven man-stopping round without being TOO painful to shoot from a J-Frame, like the Performance Center 629 would be
 
Revolver: Ruger GP100 stainless with a 4 inch barrel and fixed sights. Strong, well-made, bullet-proof. Will last a lifetime and then some. Provides option of shooting full-house .357 rounds when necessary and mild .38's for practice or when less power in needed.

Semi-auto: Glock 19. Simple, rugged and reliable, with a HUGE aftermarket support network. Parts (if you ever need them) can be found anywhere. More accessories than you can shake a stick at. Light and easy to carry. 9mm practice ammo is cheap and 9mm premium defensive loads are very effective.

For a semi-auto, I'd have to choose a Glock 23.

For a revolver, I guess I'd stick with my full sized Vaquero in .45 Colt.

I could get by with those, but I'd not be happy about it. I like having choices.

Ultra dependable, not picky about ammo brands, and can be used for CCW, super accurate, super safe.

S&W 629 6" barrel.

Takes care of everything that the 9mm is not really suited for - like bears, or large game.
 
Can't help it, I'm a Colt guy. There's no question on the semi -- my pick would be a Colt Combat Commander in .45 Auto.

I'm tempted to say Detective Special for the revolver, but that's because I have fired one of those and I know what it is. It would be nice to have the option of .357 Magnum, but I haven't ever handled or fired any of the Colt snubbies in that chambering.

Ruger LCR in 357 and G30.

G30 is a great HD gun in 45 with a 10 round capacity and is small enough to carry.

LCR has a great trigger for a compact revolver and can use .38 or .357. Available laser grips and night sights as well.

Okay, I would go with my XD45 and my S&W Model 22 of 1917. Both shoot 45acp and I love both of these guns for their accuracy and knock down power.
 
It just so happens that I carry one of two types of guns, a revolver and a semi-auto.
I carry, very often, a Colt SAA in .45. It's one of the guns I compete with and I really like it.
When it's dirty, wet or otherwise nasty, I carry a Glock 22. My Boss says carry the Glock (most of the time). I really hate the Glock but it's dependable, accurate and I don't care if it get scratched or banged around.
With the Grace of God I'll retire in a year or so and trade the Glock toward another Colt SAA.
 
That's a tough one. I guess I'd take my no-dash Model 67 for range enjoyment and housegun duty. For carry, I'd have to go with my P3AT. Yeah, I know, it's a cheap-o but it works perfectly and it's sooo covenient.
 
semi-auto i'd want a BHP in .40 caliber.

revolver, i don't know, haven't shot enough of them to develop a preference. probably something in .445 Supermag, so i can use .44 specials for most carry and Supermag if i ever wander into rampaging elephant territory.

Well "have" and "carry" are different situations. Do you mean I can only own two guns, period, and they both have to be carry guns? Or can I have as many guns as I want at home, but only two that can be carried?

In the case of "only own two guns, period" then I'd have to go with a Glock 26 and a Smith and Wesson Model 66 2.5".
 
Well I would hate to just have one of each that I could carry, but here goes.

Semi Auto: Colt 1911 XSE Full Size in 45acp, with some Wilson Combat parts added, and some custom work done.
Why the 1911: I have been shooting one for over 40 years. I like the 1911, and have confidence in it. It points great, and is very accurate. The grip is much handier to hold onto than a Hi Cap gun. I shoot it better than I do my XDm 40, or any other tupperware semi auto that I have owned so far. The flat profile is easier to hide under concealment clothing

Revolver: That would be my Smith & Wesson 310.

Why the 310: It is lite, and compact enough to carry. With the right ammo it has more stopping power than a 357 Magnum or the 45acp. It reloads with Full Moon Clips, which are fast to use. It is equipped with a Tritium front sight for after dark encounters. It points great. The 310 seems to be the perfect ballance of Power, Size, Weight, and Barrel Length for the ideal concealed carry handgun.
