If there was a death penalty law for gun ownership would you own a gun?

"If there was a death penalty ..." doesn't really cover the situation. Think about it.

If there had been a death penalty for gun ownership for the last thirty or forty years, most of us on this forum would not ever have gotten to where we are today, re RKBA. It just wouldn't come up be cause, IMHO, this Bulletin Board wouldn't exist.

If you mean, "If a death penalty were enacted today, what would you do?", that's a different matter.
 
I think this is a non-question. No offense skeeter.

What I mean is that if there were a capitol punishment for ownership/possession of a firearm, then it would be a foregone conclusion that any person with one would be a guerilla fighter. For we would no longer have a society that resembles anything we know today. In that perspective, it would mean a life or death fight for your freedom, and your country, or what's left of it.

It's only illegal if you get caught, right?

If it was a capital crime to own a gun, who would come and try to take it-you away for it? They can only kill someone once, so they would take as many as they could with them. Think about it, once you make it the ultimate price, then everyone would have subguns, machineguns and any sort of homemade DD they could come up with. Why would someone want to die for a handgun when you can die for a full auto and make it a party in the process?

You don't want to make it worth someones while to do it, do you?
 
That's BS that most LEOs would not confiscate guns. Do they not confiscate fullautos? Who wouldn't do so if ordered to do so? (After all, the owner is a lawbreaker).

Soon it will be the same with unregistered guns/semis.

They all arrest people for dope. These cops ain't libertarians.

that contained some particulars to the signature line by Lenin. Of interest is some of the dictum I choose to not include in my signature line. The reason I highlighted the line I did, is that it seems to fit the order of the day with Pravda, talk shows, radio shows, etc.

I agree with Battler. The cops would come get your guns. The few like me, that wouldn't, would be replaced. No question about it. That is why so many police departments around the country only hire those with college degrees. They have already been brainwashed.

What's the diff between getting a felony rap for merely possessing something "they" don't approve of (doing the slow-dance w/Bubba late nights/playing "fetch the soap," losing all your finances beforehand - not to mention your wife/kids) & dying?

Folks, I think the question has already been answered in places like New York City, Washington DC, etc. They have lost virtually all their rights to own firearms. Hell, many gave their rights away. There was no fight, nor will their be when the same policies are instituted nationwide. The same was the case in Great Britain, Canada, Austrailia, etc. I may be exagerating a little, but not that much folks. Still, I hope I am wrong. Moreover, I hope we never have to find out.
