Compare your picture to my original condition, 1950 Winchester Model 70 in 30-06 with a 1950 Leupold 4x, 4 Digit S/N Scope and Mounts and Leather Sling. It's been in the family since it was new.
As you can see, it also has some honest hunting wear, nicks and worn finish, but each one brings back memories of hunts long ago. My dad bought it new in 1951 and when he passed in 2007, it was willed to me.
I think you'll find that save for the different rear sight as well as the hood on the front sight being missing, you have the same rifle as I do.

Bummer ... the rifle is not coming to me. After much rigmarole, which I will spare you, the auction house screwed up, and the end result is the rifle is not mine. But, thems the breaks, win some, lose some. I do appreciate all the feedback and comments from you folks though. Merry Xmas and a happy new bang bang year.

Alas, the deal was too good to be true. You need to be lucky, but at twice the price, sometimes luck has a little better chance.
