What a Load of CRAAAAAAAAAAAAP!
First of all, I was driving through the Englewood neighborhood today, and I might as well have been in Somalia! People just wandering around AIMLESSLY with nothing to do! It was like a third world country right there in Chicago! I guess the checks already came in for the month!

Now, back to the point at hand- Here are some of my favorite quotes from the story:
"I find it commendable the Chicago Police Department is setting aside other concerns and looking at the big picture. ... That is why there are no questions asked. They just want to save lives."
Maybe they could just concentrate on solving crimes and putting the bad guys away for about a HUNDRED YEARS instead of only a few months! Of course, with no questions asked, it will be impossible to identify who might turn in a gun that was used to commit all of those murders in the neighborhood! BRILLIANT STRATEGY!
***************************************
"People really do need a place to get rid of guns ... [especially] with all these kids getting killed in Englewood. They are getting amnesty for one day," she said.
Yeah, sweetheart, the GANGBANGERS need a place to get rid of the guns they're using to kill off all of your chillens! That way, they get amnesty for their crimes for a lifetime!

The program begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. But if someone arrives a few minutes later, there "may be a grace period of five minutes," Bond said. Brooks, however, said: "If we are there, we will accept the guns. But the Chicago Police Department is taking an inherent risk and can only [hold the event] for a specific time."
Yeah, we wouldn't want to demand PROMPTNESS from a bunch of people who apparently have no work ethic or sense of personal responsibility! I mean, without jobs, it's kind of hard to get in the habit of actually showing up somewhere on time!

Bond explained that the $100 cards can be used anywhere. "There are no designated stores," she said.
"The $100 debit card is really generous," Bishop said. "The cash can be used to buy clothes or PlayStation games."
"Or other guns. Or knives. Or dope. Or Hooked on Phonics."
Notice how the concept of "savings" or "investing" never even enters the picture. But hey- Why save when you know there's always going to be that next check coming (as long as you keep voting for the right party).

If funds remain after the gun turn-in, Bond said: "More than likely, the funds will remain in reserve for future gun turn-in programs."
"Or, we'll just go and have a street party."

"The Clergy for Safer Streets and CAPS more than anything want the public to hear the message, that guns are dangerous and responsible for too much senseless violence claiming the lives of innocent victims,"
Yep. It's not the lack of parenting or the lack of an emphasis on education or the lack of moral fiber or watching music videos on BET all day where thugs are shown rappin' with their bitches and hoes. Oh no. IT'S THE GUNS!
Well guess what? I've owned MANY guns in my lifetime, and I grew up around guns, and I haven't seen one of them get up and go senselessly shoot ANYONE! I do agree that the shootings in the Englewood neighborhood are senseless, but so are most of the morons who live there, wandering around waiting on that check! If you want some sense to be brought to your neighborhood, people, go and get some education and a jobby-job and turn off that CRAAAAP you're watching and listening to!
Your (alive) kids will thank you in years to come!
Just my little rant for the night!

P.S. And don't complain about my comments as if they're not what NEED to be said! The truth hurts, and there's a long way for the people in Englewood to go before they're going to get out from under the slavery that the chains of welfare have placed them in. Gun violence is just a SYMPTOM of a much deeper problem! Some people just don't have the STONES to speak the truth!
