I personally prefer the 338-06 to the .35 Whelen. I have owned both, but never shot any game with either. However, as I have read of Elmer Keith and the game he shot with the .338 OKH and articles from African hunters, I am convinced that the choice of bullets and the SD give the .338-06 the edge.
