I want a Colt pistol! Revolver or 1911?

shell out the money for a Trooper, they still make 1911's.

I agree. My trooper is a 1954 38 special and I love it. It has a similiar action to the python with a little less hand fitting BUT you would not know it to shoot it. Its trigger is better than some pythons I have handled or fired. I prefer the pre 1970 troopers, but MKIIIs and MKVs are neat as well. Here is mine:

I picked up the Trooper last night. The 4" barreled model has a great feel to it. Serial # I was told dates it to 1972. Trigger wasn't as good as I had hoped but lock-up feels tight. Trigger not as smooth as my S&W 686 with a trigger job but might have it taken care of. Off to a decent start with the Colts but my desire for a Diamondback is pretty strong! Anyone know if I can send the Trooper to Colt for some trigger work?

Anaconda is underrated.
Not sure why.
Probably because it was such a Johnny-come-lately among .44 magnums.
