I tried something fun this weekend,,,

Try suggesting a cookout/shootout for the fourth of July. You can have an open carry barbecue. Have some steel plate competitions. Add some time challenge events. Finish the stages with a "fun" reactive target of some kind. When it starts to get dark you can end with some fireworks and maybe even shoot a propane tank from a grill. It could be alot of fun. Rent a moonwalk for the kids and set up an easy shooting gallery with .22s for the wives and older kids.
 
Speaking of spinner targets...(slight thread hijack :cool:)

I bought one of those centerfire pistol swingers with the large on the bottom, small on top. There was an odd sound I could barely hear through my muffs, but didn't think much of it as there were a lot of shooters that day. It would only happen when I shot the top one.

Come to find out, lead was splattering the tin roof every time I hit the top one!:eek: I stuck to the larger steel after that.
