I thought Rossi had finally done it,,,

my 10" Contenders are easy to fire off hand ( IMO, the 10" Contender balances about the same as a 4" revolver ) I've not shot one of the chipmunks but they are light little guns, I'd think they quite shootable off hand with a 2 hand hold

The Chipmunk doesn't have sights,,,

Or it would be a viable option.

Honestly, the Rossi would be ideal for me,,,
If I could just buy the .22 and not the combo set.

I have a friend who I get together with on a monthly basis,,,
We set our chairs up at the range and shoot .22 pistols at a dueling tree.

In these sessions I usually use a Colt Frontier Scout,,,
My friend uses his Ruger Single-Six,,,
These pistols are just fine.

But single-shot would be better.

But I still remember (with tears of nostalgia) shooting with Uncle Bantie,,,
Maybe I'm just being maudlin but I really want a pair of single-shot .22 pistols.

I think I'll write a letter to Rossi (or their distributor),,,
To see if I can't special order a pair of just the .22 pistols.

Who knows,,,
They might accommodate me.

I finally got to shoot one of the Rossi pistols,,,

It was hot as Hades yesterday evening,,,
But I slipped out to the range for a while regardless.

There was a guy sitting in a folding chaise lounge,,,
He was shooting one of the Rossi .22 LR single-shot pistols.

What really got my attention was this,,,
He was reclining way back in that lounge chair,,,
And he was using one of those telescoping shooting sticks.

This might not be the exact one he had,,,
But it is close enough to get the idea.

Anyways he was shooting very slow and deliberately with the open sights,,,
And was ringing a 6" metal spinner target about 3 out of 4 shots.

Now that is exactly the type of shooting I was remembering from my youth,,,
Very leisurely shooting but with an eye to pinpoint accuracy.

I let him shoot my Beretta 87 Cheetah,,,
He let me try out his Rossi.

I was surprised that the trigger wasn't a stiff pull,,,
The gentleman told me he was on his 4th 550 round bulk pack.

He didn't have the 45/410 barrel with him,,,
He said, "It's in the box and will probably never get used.

Shooting his convinced me,,,
I want a pair of these Rossi pistols,,,
Buds gun shop has them for $255.00 apiece.

I wonder if a person could hit a clay pigeon with the 410 barrel?
