I Think I Have a Problem

I just bought my new 686 about a week ago. It's the 4" + model. I just fell in love with it right when I saw it. I have to say when I felt it, it was perfect. I pick it up on Tuesday. I don't even have it yet. I hit the show this past weekend and stocked up on a load of 38 rounds to practice with. I am looking forward to it.

So now I am thinking of getting another one already. Is this normal? Once my 30 days has gone by I'm gonna pick up a 617 10 .22 4" as well. This could become an addiction. :o

My 686+ 3 inch arrives at my local dealer today (been a long weekend)!
First revolver - have an XD-40 and a Colt M1911 shooter circa 1913.
Yeah, the S&W will have the Mims and the cursed IL complete with the "Hil-Hole" but I think I'm gonna' love shooting it anyway. Really wanted the 3" bbl.
Hope you have good luck with yours!

Not normal. Seek qualified professional help.

I'm very sorry for you, I'd say your bigger problem is living in California. It does appear that California is doing its best to keep your wallet safe....

You should never ever buy a 1911.
Seriously.
If you are this bad with a 686, I can only imagine what would happen to you if you ever caught the 1911 bug.

yea its normal my dad has the 686 p 4 inch and i love shooting it i had the chance to get it in a 6 inch barrel and i should have. they have gone up in price i got my dad his for fathers day a few years back for 460.00 out the door

Entirely normal

I turned 21 last August, since then I've bought 4 pistols for various reasons;), sold one because it was a Taurus. Couldn't bear to have that paperweight sit next to my Beretta 96 and my two S&W Revlovers.:barf:

Yes, guns are like crack. The more you have, the more you need. Just submit. It's healthy, costs slightly less than a really bad drug habit and for the time being, it's still legal. :D

Moogs - you should chill.

Guns will be here in America when we are both gone from old age.

Enjoy your new handgun and rent some at the range you shoot at.

I got that same disease in 2008 and went through a grand and a half before I knew it.;)

Well I would chill but prices have just gone nuts and I don't know when or if they'll stop going up. I also want a little variety right out of the gate. But these two are it!

for 09.

If it makes you feel any better, I have several sets of duplicates (though to be fair one is a consecutive serial number pair), 3 in pistols and 1 rifle.

Anything worth having, is worth having a couple of. You can quote me. I think I made that one up on the fly...

re-bit

I feel your pain man, two years ago I was bitten again by the gun bug 15 in two years including handguns and rifles. But now I have the 1911 addiction to deal with too.

Check out severl different kinds, got questions about them there are a lot of very knowledgable people here willing to help. Try to rent them at the range first if you can or go to the range with someone that has different ones. That is how the 1911 got into my veins.

Stop Yourself Now !!

Moogs,
Email me and I will give you the address to send that 686. Get rid of it now !!! It's better to send me the weapon, I'm already addicted. We can still save you.

My only experience with the 686 was in Louisiana plinkin' through a friend's 8-3/8" (21 cm) barrel. Talk about accurate-like hitting a horsefly's wings clear over on the other side of the creek with the first shot. :D
