I see that Jesse Jackson has played the race card

It upsets me that race was even brought up with all this. Katrina was a hurricane, an act of mother nature.....not something that was designed to strike only the poor black community. As I recall, EVERYONE had ample warning to get the heck out of there before the storm hit. Race was simply not an issue ! Of course, the liberal press has been playing this up as well. I do have sympathy to all of Katrina's victims, black and white. It's the liberal way of thinking is what really rubs my fur the wrong way...for example, one woman on the news a couple of days ago was madly shouting about how unfair it was that "they put us in the superdome and left us there and haven't been able to feed us or give us water" "We got left behind". NOBODY got "left behind"....everyone was told to evacuate and everyone knew a major hurricane was coming...it was no surprise ! There comes a time where people have to take responsibility for themselves and their families, and NOT just rely on the government to take care of them ! As for the majority of people still there being black...well of course they are ! New Orleans IS a predominately black city so that only stands to reason. This in my eyes has NOTHING to do with racism, and the idea that the rescue efforts were delayed because most of the victims are black is utterly ridiculous ! Okay....I'm stepping down off my soapbox now. :barf:

And that is why no one should be surprised when these guys use "the race card." Without it, they have no purpose. And no notoriety... :rolleyes:
 
Its been on CNN all day....we were left here because we're black.......

or the rescue efforts weren't moving fast enough, they held out from helping us.....because we're black.....

and on and on.....it makes me SICK.

Never mind the fact that except during tourist season the vast majority in NO are BLACK. Never mind that the majority of the looters/shooters/rapists are BLACK.

The very IDEA that ANY president....ANY PRESIDENT would purposfully WAIT TO SEND AID TO AMERICANS is beyond stupid....to hype racial tension after such a terrible event is discusting.... :barf:
 
I was wondering how long it would take him to show up...someone should trap him....take a large trap, bait it with a camera and set it in a dark corner. Pop! you got him! Then take the whole shbang and set it in the river till the bubbles stop.

Yes, that is the incident that I am referring to. The Sanford Herald is somewhat user unfriendly to find past articles in. You may have more luck. It was somewhat frustrating to go through the archieves

What do people think about this. I do not want to start any flame wars, but I saw that the NAACP stepped into the mix with Jesse Jr. and Senior. The NAACP here in Florida want the Atty General to investigate a shooting here in Seminole County when a guy tried to run down two security gaurds in a parking lot with a car. The gaurds were white, hired by the Apartment complex.(They were not charged by local officials) Anyway it seems that the NAACP are ready to jump the race card whenever things don't work out to there advantage. What do you think?

Jesse Jackson is a professional. His profession is getting in front of cameras and getting publicity. The publicity fuels his income. He only has one card he can play, therefore when he can find an opportunity to get in front of a camera he will play the only card he has. That card is getting pretty worn out.
 
It wasn't cause they are black but because some idiots were shooting @ the people who were trying to help.
 
More than just Jesse have played the race card.

I can't remember his name, but they had a guy on CNN or Fox last night positively RANTING about how this was all racial.

Another person (I think this was on radio) was yelling about how if it were white Americans being evacuated they wouldn't be called refugees.
 
I suspect that Jesse Jackson was sent down there to do the work of Democrats who can't and don't want to say such things. The Dem's are itching to attack Bush but it's too early.

So send Jesse.

Jesse Jackson's sole function in life is to perpertuate the supposed racial discrimination myth forever in order to make money, generally using extortion tactics.
 
Jesse is the key player in a billion dollar industry. The industry is race baiting. Use laws written by our idiot legislators Jesse has done very well for himself and his chillren.

Question: who owns the largest Anhiser-Busch (????spelling) distributorship in the USofA?

Answer: Jesse Jr. (currently a rep in congress from Illinois)

Point of reference between AB and Jesse? Jesse's organization put the arm on AB for its racial policies and some time later Jr ends up owning a franchise. Seems there is always an attempt to negotiate quietly before going public.

Why is it all just about race? Race this, race that.

Why can't we all just be American's? You have two sides that go to the extreme on issues, mainly White and Black.

I grew up in a racist household but you know what, I don't care anymore what color you are, I don't care what you do in the privaticy of your own home anymore, I really just don't care. All I know is that we're all American's and that's all I need to care about.

And to go extra liberal on you.... hell, we're all human beings (throughout the world) so therefore they are our brothers and sisters.

Right now, I just want us to come together and do what is right. I had my dark thoughts on the situation, which I quickly put aside (old habits die hard :( ) but right now, we need to come together as a nation and yes, New Orleans will be rebuilt, as we have shown to have that drive and want to retake what we've lost.

Even though the ACLU and others are trying to get God banned from the US, I still think that we're still in his eyesight and favor, things will be overcome and dealt with.

I don't have a house that is capable for living (and I live here) but if any member of this board needs clerical help (have access to fax machine, cell phone, etc..) that needs my help, please get in touch with me and I will do what I can.
