I see that Jesse Jackson has played the race card

What do people think about this. I do not want to start any flame wars, but I saw that the NAACP stepped into the mix with Jesse Jr. and Senior. The NAACP here in Florida want the Atty General to investigate a shooting here in Seminole County when a guy tried to run down two security gaurds in a parking lot with a car. The gaurds were white, hired by the Apartment complex.(They were not charged by local officials) Anyway it seems that the NAACP are ready to jump the race card whenever things don't work out to there advantage. What do you think?

I think Jesse is not much of a credit to those he supposedly represents. When I hear people like Morgan Freeman, Bill Cosby, Chappie James and others who worked through a lot worse than Jesse did, I just don't see the level of respect Jesse seems to think he is owed.

That might be the problem right there-respect is not owed. It is earned.

I think its a shame that Jesse does not step up and do what he is clearly capable of. He has the ear of a lot of people, and I have heard him say some intelligent things on occasion. He just never seems to follow through.

All Jackson and Sharpton are doing is perpetuating the racial divide in this country. It's been 40 years since the Civil Rights Act made all forms of discrimination illegal, it's about time the black "leaders" realized they won their equality and move on to more important things.

+1

Jesse Jackson and the NAACP have been preaching learned helplessness of the black masses and elitism of the black intelligensia since day one. This goes back over 100 years. This is why black on black crime yearly kills more young men than the Klan has killed in 140 years. See my new signature for the names of the 2 major players in the debate to find out what to google to prove I'm right.

I agree that that card is played too often without need.

Jackson and Sharpton...or Sharpton vs Jackson?

I think Al Sharpton is very entertaining to watch. He has a way of delivering his message that makes me listen and laugh (LMAO) even if I don't agree with much he has to say.

Jessie...just a dull stick in the mud :barf: that says the same thing over and over again. Not at all entertaining IMO. If Al is on TV I may stop to listen. If it's Jessie I am looking for something else to watch.

I have not heard of the Seminole issue, I must have been watching the Outdoor Chanel.

Huh, I take just the opposite view: Sharpton strikes me as a buffoon while Jackson has always impressed me with his oratorical skills, even though I disagree with 99.99% of what he says. Different strokes......

JJ is a business extortionist, flat out.

Were he any other race, and in any other business, he would be in jail, IMHO.

"Jesse Jackson playing the race card; that's news? "

Not really, I knew he would eventually, Just not sure when he would. But for an armchair quarterback it was inevitable.

What sickens me more is tha Black leaders of state and federal legislatures declaring that the only reason that the rescues lately have been slow is because the rescuees are poor blacks.

I'd love to point out to them that if the black leadership of the city had done it's job properly the poor blacks wouldn't need rescued in the first place. But let's not confuse the issue with logic :D

It's all Jesse has!!

Contributions are down...this must turn around.... seriously, the last thing the "so called" reverend wants is equality. Blacks in this country are owning there own bussiness, owning there own home, and jesse hates that. When you hear a loud thud....thats jesse's crutch hittin the floor!! MLK would not be happy w/him today. Keep in mind ,the radical left is doing anything to go against a republican who is not even up for reelection(W). so we can hope they get there clocks cleaned in 06!! What do you think?

Rant mode ON

Holly crap, what is the problem with some people. All the black people I know got their act together and are making a decent living. Jackson and the NAACP have to keep making black people think they are "oppressed" because they have both lost their usefullness. Personaly I see welfare as the biggest thing keeping blacks and other minorities "down". The just wait for the check every month and don't get a job unless they have to. Then blame their lazyness on being "opressed" rather than the easy money.

I hear about them not wanting to work at McDonalds because it is "below them". I'm a white guy and I had to work for 7 months in a dishroom scubbing stuck on food, working 7 hour day's with NO breaks, 5 day's a week, with 100 F temps and 100% Humidity. All for $6.25 an hour. That's right, I worked in that place for $6.25 an hour and I was GLAD to be there. I didn't get "free money", I needed work and when you get laid off right after christmas season, jobs are hard to find. Companies are NOT going to hire you if you don't have a work history. I eventualy got out of that h*llhole and have my current job at Wal-Mart. Sometimes you have to swallow you're pride and take what is available. I don't care what color you are, as long as you can do the work, I don't care. I work with Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Whites, and even some Bosnian refugees.

If you REALLY want to, you can scape out a living and work you're way up. You may have to move. You may have to take a crappy "starter job". You may have to work odd hours. Whatever it takes to make an honest living.

Rant Mode Off

/Probably offended a lot of people.
