I refuse to buy a ugly revolver!

That was how I felt after the first time I saw Ruger's LCR in .38 special. But darn, that little gun has grown on me, so much in fact, I now plan on buying one soon. Anyone else have this problem?

A.W.

I had that problem for about the first year the LCR was on the market. Finally a friend offered to let me shoot his LCR. Within a week I had sold my 638 and bought a LCR :)

I still think it's ugly, but it sure shoots good.

Yep

Same here. I've always loved Smith snubbed but I've never been any good with them, no matter how much I practice. The LCR fits my hand perfectly and I like the sights much better.

I can't stand the looks of it but beauty is in the shooting and the Ruger is a thing of beauty in that regard. I fired a friends gun and came away VERY impressed with it.

Heck I refused to buy a ugly simi-auto...till I got a Glock.

Ugly revolver? Try my SRH .454. Now that is ugly (and it works great.)

Makes an Astra 400 look good..

Thing is they work very very well and I view them as tools. My super nice S&Ws and Colt sleep in the safe.

Maybe it's just me...

...but I like the look of the LCR. I bought one and not one person I have let handle it has said anything about it being ugly. Maybe they didn't want to hurt my feelings!:D

I think "broomhandle" Mausers are ugly - sure like to have one though.
Even Winston Churchill carried one at times.

Ugly is as ugly does! If I ever have to draw that bad boy I want it to look ugly as sin and meaner than hell! I want my assailant to pucker up and **** hisself just at the sight of it. :D

A sin to buy a plastic revolver, just like it is to buy a plastic 1911:rolleyes: Yes I do own a Ruger lcr-22. It's a bad sin. :p My Taurus 94 still beats my lcr-22 in round count.

Sorry A.W. I think the plastic snub .38 spl. and Global Warming will each have their own chapter in the book, Early 21 Century Hoaxs. I hope I'm wrong and everything works out for you and the others.

Who needs the facts when you have my opinion? :D

I consider most plastic guns, both semi and revolver, ugly guns. That has never stopped me from buying one if it reliable and accurate and fills a need.

I've never not bought a gun because it is ugly but I have bought a gun because it is pretty.

Yes, I too refuse to buy an ugly revolver! About the ugliest revolver I own is a 1907 Colt SAA 45 - it's not shiny and blue anymore.:D

I've only seen a couple of ugly guns... and they were only ugly because they were pointed in my direction. All the rest have been lovely. :D

I did exactly the opposite, well... I didnt sell my LCR. Other than the trigger, why would you sell the 638 for an LCR? I wanted the Single Action of the 638 for the range, and I shoot it better DA.

Forget ugly. Remember plastic is sort of temporary like tape, glue, and cardboard. You just don't know when it'll fail but it will fail.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder . . . ".

I've seen prettier revolvers . . . but for my needs, my LCR works great. I have the 357 model . . . . I've had no problems at all with it . . . an easy carry and for SD purposes, is plenty accurate. Yea . . . maybe it's plastic but so is my car and they used to be made out of metal . . . doesn't mean I'm going to give up my current car to go back to a Model T.
