I like glocks

They're OK. No better and no worse than a lot of other guns.

We've got one. We both like it. We neither have any desire for another one.

The stock Glock barrels shoot lead bullets ok.
That's about all I used.
Never saw a need for another barrel.
Just have to clean it after each match or range trip.
No biggie.
Always do that anyway.
Correct bullet size, with proper lube, and suitable hardness helped a lot, too.
But that's true for any barrel.
As for the stock sights, yeah, the front one got honed down from all those draws from the holster.
Had to eventually replace both front and rear for a proper point of impact.
Kind of expensive and a pain.

I like Glocks, too. Even with all the other awesome polymer guns on the market, I still think the Glock 19 in particular is one of the best carry pistols on the market and like it more than just about all of them.

I've been shootin' for 52 years. I've had a bunch of other guns, in 2 previous collections. I wanted to be done with guns, but guess wut? I found that if I want to go where I want to go, I have to be prepared to scare off idjits who think they can shoot at me. OK. I have a target .22 pistol, and my little carjacking deterrent, but otherwise, my defensive guns are all 9mm Glocks.
Ever since I was a baby boy, my interest in guns was all about hitting the target. I don't get all of this emotional attachment stuff.
My interest in Glocks is totally practical. The 26 feels exactly the same in my hand as the 17L. They do exactly what a handgun is supposed to do, with utter reliability. I switched from Ruger to Glock because my p-95 proved to be unreliable, and Ruger refused to fix it. I'll never, ever buy another Ruger, and it looks like I'll never need to buy another Glock.

I like the idea of a Glock, but the "Glock hump" makes it point too high for me.

I've been meaning to check out and maybe even rent a Gen4, but never got around to it.

It's weird that the interchangeable backstraps don't allow for an option without the hump.

I thought the same thing for years until the 4th gen came out. It still points a little too high, but for point shooting it is faster as you don't have to rotate it so far to get on target. For sighted shooting I was able to get over the hump's issues after about 500 rounds.

I have been a 1911 grip angle guy for a long time, but the Glock is so much lighter and easier to modify. Plus there is always the utility of the $25 33 round magazine.

I made the move from XD45 to Glock 17 as a daily carry about 4 months ago.

I still carry the XD around the house as it is a bit more comfortable when I am doing chores.

I like Glocks BUT

I like Glocks....but the statements that they "just work" puzzles me.....
My Sigs just work also...as do my Berettas, Smiths and Rugers..
Glocks are fine...a little overpriced but I don't realistically think they are better built than Sig p226 or even P320... People just seem to over rate Glocks - putting them in some kind of super category of reliability etc but many handguns are built sturdier n in the case of Sig n HK ; realistically Glocks are not superior to those
