I think the main reason I went with the Rem 870 over the Mos 500 was the feel and look of the stock. Even though I know the 870 has a laminate wood stock it still felt and IMO looked better than the Mos 500.
The higher price on the 870 didn't bother me so much because of the long history behind it and knowing that if I treat it well it will last me for a very long time.
Rugerismisticness: The price before the case and tax was $389 I think. Please keep in mind that we don't have Walmarts that sell firearms around here and only two gun shops in the county that I know of.
What's the price on a new 870 in your neck of the woods wherever that might be?
Took my new "toy" out for the first time today....
So I went out to the trap range for the first time this morning and a good time was had by all.
I only hit 10 out of 25 on both games but that's fine by me for still being so new to the sport.
And another thing that I still can't believe happened. While I was pulling out of the parking lot one of the guys that I was shooting with stopped me to say something. I rolled down the window and he said that he noticed that I was keeping my shells in my pocket. Then he pulled out a Browning shell bag and handed it to me and said that he had other bags and that they hoped to see me again at the range soon.
I still can't believe the generosity of some people.
Who ever said that guys with guns weren't nice.
I hope all of you have as good a day as I am having.
Cheers
