2) This is a test of the Democratic party. They have spent 6 years bashing, whining, and complaining, and basically saying how they would be better. OK, time to put up or shut up. Are you the party of change or aren't you. The American people want to see something "better", you better deliver on your six years of rhetoric.

The stock market is at a new all-time high and America's 401K's are back. A new direction from there means what?

Unemployment is at 25 year lows. A new direction from there means what?

Oil prices are plummeting. A new direction from there means what?

Taxes are at 20 year lows. A new direction from there means what?

Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs. A new direction from there means what?

The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year. A new direction from there means what?

Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years. A new direction from there means what?

Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows. A new direction from there means what?

Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01. A new direction from there means what?

Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he's alive at all, while 95% of Al Queda's top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel. A new direction from there means what?

Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British Intel, including the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets being exploded in mid-air over major US cities in order to celebrate the anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks. A new direction from there means what?

Just as Bush had planned and foretold us of on a number of occasions, Iraq was to be made "ground zero" for the war on terrorism -- and just as Bush said they would, terrorist cells from all over the region are alighting the shadows of their hiding places and flooding into Iraq in order to get their faces blown off by US Marines rather than boarding planes and heading to the United States to wage war on us here. A new direction from there means what?

Don't get your hopes up

Regardless of any "moderate" dems in office now, they have to please their leadership to survive. That seems to be pulling hard left. I hope no Reps voted that way out of some twisted form of revenge, cause they actually cut off their own d---s to send Bush a "message". I guess that alot of "moderates" will discover their missing members when they wake up at the beginning of Nancy's first hundred hours agenda, also. Guess that will teach those Bushies! Right now I am deciding what to get before it disappears. Expect the possibility of price gouging on those items that everyone will be wanting to get put back for a rainy day! Big profits for retailers of some items, I expect.

Yes they did, unfortunately.
I call it the 'tantrum' vote.
To withhold the vote or to deliberately give the vote to a third party who has no chance at all of winning.
All because the voter 'didn't get their way'. So they give their vote to someone who has no chance to win just to send a message. This allows the most dangerous group to win and take this country down to the depths of treachery by the democrats.

But hey, they voted their 'principles'.

No, a tantrum is what you've been throwing with the first post because *you* didn't get your way in this election.

I find it the height of condescension for you to berate other people for their election choices, and label them "dumb" for not having the smarts to vote like you did. If you're trying to make a point, it's totally negated by your form. You best hope that not all the Republican supporters have your sort of persuasion skills, lest the Republicans take an even worse drumming in 2008.

Now, since there doesn't seem to be any other purpose to this thread than for you to vent your bile at the way the election went, I am closing it down. Go and punch a sandbag at the gym or something, but get it out of your system. Then start calling or writing letters to your Representatives and work towards getting your way in the 2008 elections. Don't start sowing dissent here by venting your frustration on other members. Calling people who don't think like you do "dumb" is never a good way to make them see things your way.
