I have been so lazy lately about carrying.

Thats right go out and look for a new holster. It may help get you out of your funk about not pruchasing a new gun in awhile?

I used to be lazy, then I noticed carrying my Ruger P90 with out a holster was rubbing the finish off the slide

its been running -15f to -25F here at night, its too cold to carry.

PBP, What's wrong with you? I've seen the inside of your safe.

First you want a new handgun and then you can't be bothered with your holster - I think you need to see the Doc :p

definitely get some new leather. if you haven't got one yet try a comp-tac minotaur mtac something or other hybrid holster. back half is leather with a kydex body. the cool thing about those are crazy adjustable so you get to play with it trying different angles and positions. plus you can change out the kydex body's to make it work with other guns. It got me psyched about summer carry already walking around in a t shirt, and its 4 degrees out. i wouldn't necessarily recommend it for sub compacts as the leather sweatguard is on the large side to cover all the different guns.

kinda like a pair of boots, if becoming a chore it might be time to get a new pair or try a different brand

If you can get that handgun out with any alacrity, I don't see a problem if that's what is comfortable. If you're just looking for an excuse to try out some new leather, have you tried Don Hume? I use JIT Slides for leather, and they're super comfortable and hold close to the body, so they're good for any weather. FWIW, the JIT stays on my belt, even if I'm not carrying; it's that small. I'm trying out a Galco Matrix for the G29, but of course, that's plastic. It also holds pretty close to the body.

This post is making me half angry and half sad. Listen up, you non carriers who have the 'right' (which yes, we all should have but some of us are trapped behind enemy lines!) to carry and do not; I'm stuck with a knife, a stainless steel ballpoint pen and a flashlight!

The moment one is not carrying, that might well be the moment, eh? This economic downturn has once again slowed our egress from the Garden State to TN.....oh, to carry!

CCW Question

There is a bit of controversy in the State of Georgia about where you can and can't have your gun, specifically in your car on a private company lot. Some believe that according to the recent legislation passed Georgians can keep their guns in their cars on an employer's grounds. The company I am with had prior to this legislation put out an email that said any employee found with a handgun in their car on company grounds would be summarily terminated. They further stated that they maintained the right to do random spot checks with trained dogs if needed. What would you of the CCW community say about this?

I have had a CCW for over 36 years and only carry maybe 1% of the time. No threats where I live. May help because I am a big guy over 6ft. too. Sorry.

Lazy To Strap On

QUOTE: I do not mean I am not carrying. I just mean I have been way to lazy to strap on a holster. I have just been throwing on my fanny pack with my Glock 33 inside of it. Easy to put on, and easy to take off.

Thats why we need open carry laws. With as many guns as you have it would give you the desire "strap on" to show them off. Gee, if I had as many guns as you have, I'd have a hard time deciding on which one and which holster to use.

I'm not crazy about belting on a holster either ... I mostly pocket carry when it's warm ... but I often use paddle holsters for both my carry guns ... on and off in a second and if you get a good one, they don't print any more than a belt holster ...

I've been real lazy all of 2008 and have gotten a little pudgy around the mid section, so I haven't been carrying at all. I just carry in my cars. Besides my hands are deadly weapons.

Well, a fanny pack is a way of carrying a gun. It's not lazy; it's legal. Of course, people will know you're armed and some won't like it. You also won't be a snazzy dresser. Might not make for a very fast draw...

The very few people that realize a gun is in the fanny pack are probably ones that will not mind. If they do mind...they will get over it. It is not like I am in their home or attending a PTA meeting.

As for the "snazzy dresser" part, have you ever seen pics of me? Being a snazzy dresser is not something I am ever accused of being. :)

I fanny pack carry when I volunteer at my kids school. Very secure, NO chance of flashing, very kid-friendly. I even wore it when I played Santa Claus----forgot to leave it at home after running errands.

I

don't seem to carry as much these days because invariably I end up in a bar.

At one point I was in denial so I would carry and lock whatever I was carrying in the truck prior to establishing; but now I have come to the realization I will just end up there so why carry?

I think....therefore I drink.
