I have an Yugo M57 in 7.62 X 25.

Norinco Tok

My first pistol ever was a Norinco Tokarev and I loved it! I eventually, foolishly, sold it for peanuts to get a more concealable side arm when the Tok ammo started drying up. Now I'm always eyeing them up whenever I see them at decent prices, but frankly the ammo is what keeps me away from it. I love the round, performs magnificently, but it's so hit and miss finding factory loads in stores. Still, I wouldn't complain about having one in my collection again.

RoyalWe:

Buy yourself either a Romanian or Yugo (Both are available From J&G Sales). You can always order ammunition online from a number of sources.

At less than $250 they are a bargain.

Enjoy the pistol while you can.

My CZ70 in 32acp is a good quality firearm that unfortunately doesn't fit my extra-large hands well.

My Norinco Tokarev in 9mm, "on the other hand" fits me well and is a terrific shooter. It looked like it had fired thousands of rounds when I got it, and shoots like it can easily handle thousands more.

I adore my M70 .32 as well. the solid steel consruction launches stout (read: Buffalo Bore) 75 grain loads quite well, providing penetration beyond the "powder puff" American loads. (It's sad, but true).

Fiocchi (loaded in Nevada) are a marvelous exception. These provide better penetration than the an emic Remington, Winchester, (Olin) and Federal Cartridge).

I like it, because Fiocchi is less expensive than Buffalo Bore and works well for target practice. The Buffalo Bore provides better penetration and shoud be used when "the chips are down" (used for carry ammunition).

I know what works, and enjoy living. Buffalo Bore in an all-steel pistol are the "best bet" when it comes to personal defense employment of the 7.65mm x 17mm Semi Rimmed cartridge. Gelatin tests show that they penetrate well over 18 inches in Ballistic Gelatin test medium. This translates to beaching the sternum and poking holes through ribs, then perfromating vital organs. Properly placed, the Buffalo Bore ammuniton accomplishes the task.

The defense... rests.

I posted a picture of my CZ70 in the 32acp thread that is currently running. Here is a gratuitous picture of my Chinese Tokarev. I got it a year ago or something like that. If I had known how nice to shoot and accurate they are, I would have bought one ages ago. Tears pour from my eyes when I remember them at gun shows NIB for $89, back in the late 80's or so. Doubtless I wasted the money on wine, women, and song instead.

I love the Tokarev! All calibers and countries. I have never been disappointed by one.

Wish they were still $100 guns.

Here,here!

I own and have owned many.
Great gun and tough as nails.
I rarely shoot my TT33 any more due to it's collectability but I regularly shoot my other Tok variants.

The days of the cheap 7.62x25 ammo are long gone but lucky for me when it was cheap and plentiful I bought it cheap and stacked it deep.
I also have 5,000 rounds of new brass from startline brass.
Some day I may have to start reloading 7.62x25 but not any time soon.

You can still get the Romanian TT-C from Aimsurplus for $239 with 2 mags and leather holster if anyone is interested. Mine is the M57 but always wanted the Romanian so I might order one from them.
