i just got a HK P30 and it is the nicest gun i've owned....try one out. but i think the 92FS is a fine pistol as well,you could always get a G17 trade in for 400 bucks and spend the rest on holsters,mags and ammo
 
That's a very good budget!

I'd buy;

In 9mm; Beretta 92FS or CZ-75B

.45; Taurus PT1911 (But I think it's for over 900$ now)

.357; S&W 686 or a Taurus Model 608/627 with 8/7 round cylinder

Dont forget that once you have gone around and checked out the different models an excellent choice could be available on the used market. My choice from your list would be the Beretta 92.
 
I am not really a lefty. I just cant see out of my right eye (basically).

I do rifles left handed but I do not THINK there will be problem with doing handguns right handed.
