If the damage lowered the monetary value of the gun (which it probably did) he would have gotten a summons to small claims court. Stupid should hurt.
thing is, its your item of property, you have the responsibility to keep it safe. so why were you simply sitting back drinking your coffee while you watched the guy do the damage. you shoulda been up right next to your gun the whole time.
Seriously, if its as expensive and important as you say it is, why use the common peeple rack, and not take a range cart of your own, or at least a padded case for it, so no dumb dumb things happen to it?

Actually, the worst damage I've seen on a Skeet field has happened at Station 7. More than once I've seen broken-off-the-arm low bird chunks bloody-up shooters and ding guns. Long ago I adopted a Station 7 stance that places me as far from the window as is legal. And, it's not unknown for a newby to catch a clay in the back of the head while advancing from Station 7 to 8 -- that will really ruin your day.- Status
