10-day waiting period
This I sorta understand ... for your FIRST handgun purchase!
If I already own guns, this "cool-down" period makes no sense IMO.
No more than ONE handgun purchase every 30 days
Again ... if my intent was to do something sinister, one gun would be plenty.
Safety Course Certificate
Yep ... I was required by law to sit and watch a 30 minute video on "gun safety". The worst example of a "gun safety" video I have ever seen I might add. If you're going to require me to watch a video on gun safety, make it more informative and less political.
CCW
There is no such thing.
Only crooks and LEO carry in the State of Maryland.
Public Ranges
There a maybe a handful in the state, but there is only one in my area and they mostly cator to LEO and treat most other customers pretty bad.
I hate going there, but I have no other option if I want to "legally" shoot my guns.
On a more positive note, I recently took a trip to West Virginia and was pleased to find that the whole attitude on guns was totally different there. Gun ranges were plentiful and those that I visited were very friendly and very family oriented. Mind you, there's plenty of private property in West Virginia to shoot on, so I'm guessing a trip to the range for most people there is more of an opportunity to socialize.
Here in Maryland, guns are frowned upon and I'm made to feel like a criminal simply because of a hobby I thoroughly enjoy.
I HATE Maryland.
Thanks for allowing me to vent. (rant off)
