You said it yourself, it's crystal clear -- correct, you will NEVER understand, no point in pondering it.

I will never understand folks that dump $50k or 80k or $150k in to a -car- or $5k in to a painting or $3k in to a wristwatch. I would never expect everyone to understand the value and enjoyment in a firearm they do not shoot.

Of course I also can't believe anyone would spend $130 on a Mosin-Nagant or the people that go to a gun store or a Wal-Mart and purchase two boxes of .45 ammo. I also think that a metal GI ammo can is a big waste of space and money at any price but many disagree.

It's all good.
 
Any gun that can't be shot for fear of depreciation in value is worthless to me.
Having a couple guns that I wouldn't shoot is a good reason to make an exception to rule #1, and buy something more fun.
