I guess a Mosin Nagant is an Assault Rifle now?

Can't wait for the news reports on the "Assault Muskets."

The government wants to keep the public's gun technology in the 1800's. Keep 'em weak and they're easier to control. Just give 'em the bare minimum. Bread and water... like prisoners.

Well those M44's do have that "tactical" bayonet after all.

The only way the left will be happy is if all we are left with to defend ourselves is colorful language.

Tl;dr

Too busy fondling my semiautomatic, military grade assault weapon and it's high capacity magazine clip, designed to spray bullets from the hip and kill 500 people per minute. I mean, my Glock 19.

Let's see what we can do with a perfectly reasonable definition of assault weapons.......

So when the Viking raiders leapt into the Irish surf from their longboats, they carried "assault weapons". Let's face it, Sven and Rothgar were not there for the folk music workshop. They had swords, axes, spears, and bows. All for assault.

And will the Gov-media complex someday start calling all those "assault weapons"? I sure hope not. I might want to take up hunting wild boar with a spear, after all :D

Holds nearly....a half dozen bullets.....

Can .....spray them out ..... As fast as you can hammer the bolt open with a 2x4.

Can be ........easily concealed ...... In the back of a long bed truck.

Uses military grade surplus ammo that fires 87% of the time.

Can be operated by someone highly experienced in avoiding rim lock .

Come on people... We can add to this.

I love my MN but assault weapon it's not

The term "assault weapon" in and of itself is as ridiculous as it is redundant.

It is like saying "vehicle tire", "cutting knife", or "writing pen". By definition the purpose of a "weapon" is to "assault" - whether the reason is offense or defense the action it achieves is to assault.

Some things, lets say a shotgun, can be used as a hunting tool - in which case it is not primarily used as a weapon. Although most shotguns could be used as a club, that is to say as a weapon, to assault somebody.

The term is nonsensical.

I have an "assault" baseball bat. Some people have "assault" fists. Ever hear of Assault and Battery? Or Assault with a deadly weapon?

I am not really trying to be sarcastic. Just want to point out what can be termed as assault.
