I got my first Shiner!

Since we don't get Shiner here, I had to wait until I visited MO about 3 weeks ago to try it. I was overheard commenting that it was "Just beer." Wrong thing to say in that crowd. :D I'm a rum-n-Coke girl myself.

Scott and Blue....

That's enough out of you two...off to the corner for a time out!!!

HOLY CARAPPPP BATMAN WE'VE STIRRED UP A HORNETS NEST (BY THE WAY Charlotte got that name because of a comment by a certain British General in the Revolutionary War). Ottergal, I apologize profusely for the slip, and by the way, Kule smilies!). To answer the other questions, click on my e-male (pun intended sorry again Ottergal)link on the post and send me an e-mail and I'll take you up on the offer(Satana,MRSMTN,SCUD & JCH). I think there is only one bar on the main street in town,(threw away my conference stuff when I got home KaMaKaZi e-mail me and I'll see what I can do)Mike Irwin, you so funny! Thanks! Bogie, I can handle a Stout but I guarantee you that a true Shiner convert would'nt get the first swallow down! To all of you, I just want to say, I had looked for shiner and pretty much gave up finding it here. I about "sh*t a brick when I did realizing that I now had something else in common with TFL members. Buy the way The Johnson brown is best served slightly above freezing. As my friend John in England would say "Krikees"! Beer is good! Even a bad beer on a hot day is good, I think this is one of God's promises to man! My wife and I spent 3 weeks with John and his wife last year in England, Scotland, and France. I made a point to try every Lager and Ale I could get my hands on. My very favorite is KilKenny from Ireland. It is in Canada and Mexico but for some reason, not in the states. All this is to say, so many beers, so little time, try them all. I have found that a lot of the Micro brewers like Johnson have some great stuff. Try them all. Ken (the kinder, gentler,SOB)! P.S. I have found that sometimes things are bigger in Texas...... I used to know a guy who would regularly "whip it out" and say "I'm from Texas"! I think he was really from Missouri but it left a lasting impression! Bless you all!

Used to love San Miguel from the Phillipines. They brewed it here in the states but it wasn't the same. That an good ol'Atlas Balboa. My favorites, bar none!

Awwwwww Sumabich...apology accepted! ;) Besides, I couldn't stay mad at someone who loves beer as much as I do!

Blue...okay, you can come out of the corner now. As for Scott...well....maybe after we make him chug a Shiner or two!

Never tasted a Shiner, but for you guys who adore them, I saw an entire truckload at a convenience store this morning on my way to work. Guy was unloading cases and taking them inside. Though it was 7:00 am, I thought about it... :)

dvc,
I kinda suggest you capitalize that Shiner.
Here, unclench that fist and get a grip - a grip on a nice cold Shiner Bock! ;)

Dennis, after reading about the elusive Shiner Bock on TFL, I sought out a sixpack.

I found it at my local grocery. (wh00 h00!)

This is my first exposure to this beer. Is it just me or do I detect a slight metallic taste?

I've already been through 3 bottles... *burp*

SHINER SUCKS! SHINER SUCKS! SHINER SUCKS!

Drink Coors Light :)

Just kidding, please don't hurt me. I love Shiner, really. Oh God, why can't I shut up?

Evening all:
Found this board through my association with www.f150online.com, a site devoted to Ford trucks and in my case Ford Lightning trucks.

Not too much on the firearms scene am I, I have a Ruger .22 semi auto carbine that I removed the firing pin from and hid that along with the ammo about 3 years ago when the grandkids moved in (little kids) and a WWII Japanese Arisaka long rifle Cal.6.5 I think that was probably last used in 1944/45.

Used the Ruger as a varmint control apparatus when I owned a small farm in rural South Carolina. Not too accurate, but you could scare the heck out of the foxes and so on with the volume of fire.

Anyway, reason for the post is to give a big thanks to the group for introducing me to Shiner Beer. Went to the Website, got a list of all the Publix stores in Atlanta and finally found one that had the Shiner Bock version. They had three six packs and did not know when they would get more so I got 'em all.

As stated earlier, I am not perhaps into the firearms scene as most of you seem to be although I have an interest in the history of the development of military arms in general. Probably more interested in the technical aspects as opposed to the "other" aspects.

In any case, I enjoy your board and I think you might find some kindred souls when it comes to vehicles on the www.f150online.com board.
Probably best not to get into firearms, but it gives you another outlet to make friends or buddies.

Now, in the Peoples Republic of CA, the Commisars have let it slip by. Next year a bill will be introduced in the CA Assembly to require a license and a drinking test before you can own one. So get yours now! I bought two six packs of Shiner Bock today! Wow, what a GREAT beer! I like Sierra Pale Ale, Becks, and Moose Head, but Shiner is a real treat! It's OK with me if we make it the "official" beer of TFL.

Aaaaaaaah...so Shiner's not available nationwide? Another reason for me to wake up every morning and thank God that I'm back in the great State of Texas!

Chadintex,

Next time, could you note "joke" before such a volatile post? Please?

I flamed so bad on your first line that I toasted my monitor! (Grrr!)

Here. Have a Shiner Bock. And please don't pull no more o' them Yankee-style jokes, OK?

(Whew! Danged blood pressure rang the gong at the top of that little mercury tube!! :D)
