I finally crossed over to the dark side... (glock related)

Finally got myself a Glock...

G19 gen 4

It shoots very well... Which is why I got one. After years of apathy and general disinterest, I finally tried shooting a few of them that people had with them in the shooting lanes beside me.

I always hated how they feel... But I shoot them well! Was my general reaction.

So began my long quest to acquire one.

I originally wanted a gen 4 g17, as they felt much better in hand than the gen 3, and even the gen 4 g19... But the cards fell as they may and a g19 gen 4 is what I finally wound up with.

I hate myself...

Don't hate yourself. Whatever you did, was the right decision in that moment. Life is a continues change.
I keep wondering about "what-ifs"....Who I'd be if say my father was dating the Queen?:D

I was always sort of apathetic about GLOCKs, but then I decided I wanted a 10mm and the G20 just seemed like the best option. After a positive experience I ended up getting a G26 which I’ve also been very happy with. I guess they’re sort of the Toyota Camry of guns reliable and thus very popular, but never generate that emotional response like some other brands/models.

Don't hate yourself.

But I was weak... Lured in by the promise of cookies.

The 1911 guys will be there to remove your other guns shortly.

They would get a swift boot in their rear for the trouble.

The 1911 is still my favorite pistol... And something I don't own. I had a compact model years ago, and people I know always had one, so I got to shoot them a lot.

The 1911 situation is the next one to be addressed... I will have one soon.

So she's not quite as pretty, but you married the girl who's a great cook and works hard and is good in bed and is always faithful.

Wise man.

:)

I was considering a Glock 19 until I ran across a S&W SD9VE on sale. It is almost exactly the same size, weight and function of the 19 at a much better price. I bought it and had enough money left to buy a Taurus TCP 738 pocket pistol. My son-in-law is a die hard Glock 19 fanatic and you will probably be the same way.

Let's see......should I bet my life on one totally reliable pistol or bet my life on two junk pistols???

Let me ponder that for a while......

(Deep thinking going on.)

:)

Verminator, have you owned either of those guns? They both get pretty great reviews for reliability. No one wants to admit they like Taurus, but that particular gun has been a hit.

I started Glocking about a year ago. I now own 4 of them. They are not the only pistols I own but I do enjoy them.

As a revolver guy I can say that you likely made the right decision. If you shoot it well that is the most important. Second is if you like it.

I am still looking for a high capacity handgun that I shoot well and I like. The best I can do is 8 rounds either in my S&W 627 or my Coonan.

I have real doubt I will ever find a high capacity handgun ill like.

Since gun reviewers these days seem to have all the ethics of a pit bull in heat, I never believe reviews.

I believe guns are good when they have years of reputation of perfect function established.

All else is fable to me.

If Smith and Wesson and Taurus have finally made semi-autos that achieve Glock perfection.....I applaud them.

I just won't actually know that for a few years.

;)

I'm not talking about gun reviewers. I'd agree with you there. That's why I started using this forum, actually. To ask real people.

I've heard good things about the TCP but I don't know about it from personal experience. With the SDVE series, I heard enough reviews that I finally bought one. It's been great.

My carry and IDPA pistol, Glock 19, Gen 4 with TruGlo night sights, Glock extended slide release (Slide Lock Lever?) butt plug, better mag changes, been a Glock fan since 1984!

I have a few of them.

The triggers are not 1911 triggers, but good enough, at speed, fine.

Carry a spare magazine, a Glock 17 one, two more rounds, and at speed, the G19 mag pinches my hand.

Definitely accurate enough. Reference reliability, shoots anything!

Everyone should at least own a Glock. I've owned at least half a dozen and sold all of them over time. I just shoot/prefer other striker fired pistols, but if that's all I had I wouldn't be worried.

Gen4 G19 is my only pistol and not planning on any more.

So I said.

Now I also have a Gen4 G20 (and a KKM Precision.40S&W drop-in barrel for cheaper shooting).

But if I'm therefore Glocking, I'm also SIGing and Walthering...

I recently 'went dark 'also.. :p

...Got me a GLOCK19 gen4 & liked it so much I bought the baby 26 as well.

They take a lickin' & keep on a tickin'.That's my story & I'm stickin' to it. :D
