I dont understand the need for an expensive .22 gun. The whole point, to me, to owning a .22 is for cheap shooting. So, who spend a few hundred, or more even, for something that is supposed to be cheap. I got mine because my dad had gotten a H&R .32 and traded it for a 597 and an RG in .22 LR. Well, after awhile he just decided to give them to me because he had a hard time selling it. Well, the 597's aftermarket 25 round mag was garbage and the gun just needed cleaned. The RG needs refinished badly and just needed cleaned. I Remington has a cheap red dot, which is kind of neat, but I wouldn't of bought it myself. Both guns, used value combined might be $150 tops. Good, cheap, fun. Bot guns have probably had 150 rounds through each since I got them and no major problems. So my advice, don't be afraid to get a cheaper gun.
