I feel a little better about leaving my gun in the car now.

I just like my original...why upgrade!

My wife has Never driven it!

PPS: Could you imagine drilling into a Shelby to install a gunsafe??? I do not think so.

Laughed for a while thinking about that one.

By the way, props to djohn for the towel idea. I had not thought of that, but does seam to be a great way to conceal a weapon to the trunk.

nd1979,

That's a shame for the wife. My wife drove my 66 "K" code GT almost more than I did and looked hot doing it! No A/C.

PBP, welcome to the "Me Too" club (which btw I am not currently a member of).
What's the "Me too" club?

All you Mustang owners.

LMK when you figure it out.;)

gentlemen, i know this might sound alien to most of you. But stop into your local car audio specialty shops and ask about alarm options. I have worked in the 12 volt industry for the last 6 years as an installer and have had 2 cars i've put alarms in broken into...... both of them the alarm mysterious didn't go off. Just any other situation a thief likes to prey on an easy target, a blinking l.e.d. is a big red flag for them. Personally i have an alarm with a mile range that pages me when ever my truck is tampered with so i can go check in. A basic alarm is usually in the neighborhood of 200 bucks installed and can get you a break on your insurance rate which will pay for itself in a year or two. long of the short is sa for your car, it works. plus remote start is pretty b.a.

protect you guns cars are soooooo easy to get into no matter where you hide it they'll find it.

Never leave anything you value in a "locked" car. You would be shocked to see how many people can pick automotive locks in seconds. I have seen junior high kids who can pick car door and trunk locks in under 20 seconds. Do some reading on lockpicking. Most glove boxes on modern cars are made of plastic. As far as alarm systems are concerned, how many times have you been in a parking lot and heard car alarms wailing and nobody pays any attention? The cheap locks installed on most cars are false security. If you can't take your weapon with you for whatever reason install a secure vault in your vehicle.

Nice looking car, I have been looing at geting one recently Nothing wrng with a v6, I have a 4cyc that is pushing close to 350.

Allright PBP, I'll race ya and it should make you feel good about the Mustang.

(although Jeeps are pretty good off the line :D )

On a serious note though, the glovebox is really easy to pop. PacSafe makes some good stuff you could use in the more confined spaces of the 'stang.

Drail you wright,a lot of car alarms that are installed are not adjusted correctly sensitivity wise. They go off when someone leans on the car or even sneezes,So it is so common that they go off that folks pay little attention. That being said it wouldn't stop me from putting one in as a deterent and the starter kill make it a much more difficult for the amateurs to drive off with the car with the gun.

I rarely lock my car doors. Since a thief is well...a thief by nature, he doesn't care if doors are locked, or windows up.
If they want in, they get it. Locks rarely deter.
I'd prefer them not to shatter my window, since replacing that will cost just as much as my stolen gun.

I keep a .38 in my glovebox at all times, locked when I'm not with the car ... it sleeps in a locked garage at night, so no problems there. Sweet car, PBP ... still miss my '89 5.0 convertible, but in my retired state, hard to justify to the wife that I need a $30k hotrod ... she did let me buy a Miata, so I can still do some open-air motoring, but 140 hp aint 300; go for the GT when you get a chance ...

Nice Mustang Playboy:

However, I would NEVER get rid of my truck (Z-71) for anything....
Mark my words, you will miss it (as most folks do, when they get rid of their trucks for other vehicles).
