I don't own a revolver. Am I a bad person?

....I have only one 'jamamatic' handgun in my collection....On the other hand, only one of my revolvers is double action ( & it's 100 yrs old) , would you consider me a bit behind the times  ?..........................

You are not bad you are just foolish! Wisdom comes with the purchase of a quality S&W DA revolver and a quality Ruger SA revolver! :) Dennis

No revolver, Bad person?

It's almost un-American not to own a 357 revolver, a 30-30 lever-action, and a 12 ga. pump. How can you go through life with out the basic's of shooting???? You are leading a deprived life...... but you can fix it . :D

I took a few minutes to put a summary of replies together to help you get your act together.

5 members agreed 'YOU ARE BAD'
7 members chose not to answer, but con you into their favorite revolver
The remainder consider you to be...

Deprived
Evil, worst of the worst
Teafully sorry for you
Shameless
Missing out
Evil Incarnate
Foolish
Almost unAmerican
and finally you will never be fullfilled in your life until you hear the Click, Click, Click, before the Bang!

And, your thread isn't even over yet! So I would strongly suggest you repent immediately and then go out into the world and BUY A REVOLVER!!! ;)

Good Guys

John Wayne single action, Clint Eastwood double action, Mel Gibson semi auto- the good guys have used them all as every good guy should.
By the way Shooter, I think a 12 gauge side by side should be on the list.

I carry a .357 Speed-Six 2.75" barrel... full hammer that I might get bobbed one day, but probably not. I carry IWB at about 4:00 with usually a heavy t-shirt for cover and the hammer hasn't caused any trouble yet... then again I'm no fast-draw artist.

I'd suggest, if you can't find a nice old Speed-Six like mine, going with an SP-101 with the 3+1/16 barrel... the extra length over a snubby 2" helps with velocity and accuracy, and it really isn't that hard to conceal especially if you carry IWB.

Seriously though, I do CCW, so I guess I ought to get me a snubbie. Does it HAVE to be a 'hammerless'?

your eyelids are getting heavy......

you can only hear the sound of my voice....
you are getting sleepy....
when you awake, you will feel refreshed and have the urge to go purchase a....

S&W model 60,
stainless, 2" bbl, .38 spcl.

Hey, it's a classic snubbie (with a hammer). get yourself some boot grips. hides nice under the pajamas (scrubs) I wear to work every day. :D

ok, so the SP101 is real nice too.

"Seriously though, I do CCW, so I guess I ought to get me a snubbie. Does it HAVE to be a 'hammerless'?"

Like most everything else in this world, it is a trade-off. Hammerless models have less to snag on clothing, so are more likely to be able to be drawn smoothly from concealment. OTOH, many "safety holsters" are designed with retaining straps that wrap around the hammer spur. So, if you are wanting to use such a holster, you need to get a model that has a traditional hammer spur. Also, if you ever want to do any sort of single action shooting, you'll need some sort of hammer spur -- either the traditional sort or the "shrouded" one that just has the tip end exposed.

Every gun owner needs to own at least one revolver, it's just not normal not to :p .

It just seems that the revolver hasn't ticked your fancy yet. Don't worry, it will come sooner or later ;) .

You know, I've been thinking of a Taurus 38, or a Smith model 10, but today I held a Kahr and I think the revolver may have just got bumped down to 2nd priority :(

Yes you are a bad person. Go stand in the corner and stare at the wall. Hands at your side.

Ok, your done with time out. No go buy yourself a decent revolver like a Pre-27 or a Python.

Bullrock, your earlier reply was insightful & entertaining...How about a wrap-up when the thread winds-down.... ;)
Revolvers are my first love. But, Skeeter S. remarked late in his years on how his personal biases didn't let him lean & enjoy the autoloaders until way too late. IIRC, the 1911 Colt became his constant companion....
