I am Legal!!!

Anywhere (anyone?) along I-70 that's a good spot to stop of for some shooting? I'll be driving through there on I-70 West Wednesday headed for Colorado, firearms in tow. Moving the bulk of the rest of my household good out there in preps for leaving the Navy. Would like to stop off to meet/shoot with anyone who is along my route. Drop me an e-mail if that applies to you patriot_bob@yahoo.com), but realize that I'll be leaving on Tuesday afternoon so make it timely! Even if we can't shoot, I'd like to actually put some faces with some names if y'all are willin'!

Bob, if you take I-74 through Illinois you'll go right past me. But if you're talking about the weekend of the 4-5th of March, we could do it just about any evening except Saturday the 4th--that's Melissa's bridal shower and they invited me for some reason. She'll be in town for that and she's been bugging me to take her shooting again. Not sure exactly where we'd go, though.

Miss D,
Friends with ARs? I have six :) I'll invite you the the next AR15 mailing list shoot.

I also have a good friend from the AR15 list who lives in Des Plaines. Let me know if you want to make contact with a local AR shooter.

Gwinny,

I'm getting on I-70 at St. Louis and not getting off until I am just short of Denver. Not sure where I-74 is or goes, but it's not on my current itenerary.

Bob,
You might want to check a map, but if you get on I-70 at St Louis, and head toward Denver, you'll never get to Illinois or Indiana.

jcoyoung,
Where's WIllow Slough?

Willow Slough is in Northwest Indiana between Rt 41 and the Indy-Ill border. I've never been there, but I hear it is a public range. I'm not sure if they allow handguns though, so it may not be the best place for a TFL get together.

I know of a range right around here, either Des Plaines or Mount Prospect (cant think of the name of it right now) they allow it all :D AR's too! :)

DesPlains sounds good too.

Of course I still need to get my upper and parts kit before my AR is anything close to being useful.

Sandy,

When you find out where that range is, please post it. I've been dying to get my AR out recently.

I hope all us IL/IN people can get together sometime. I don't have too many friends that are into guns and shooting as much as I am, and it'd be nice to have some range fun with a group of comrades.

Hey, this is a great idea! I'd also rather have it in Indiana, as I get a bit nervous when I'm in IL. Something about no CCW in IL, and the fact that I don't stop just because I cross a state line. :-)
