I know that I am not the only one. I would have a lot more if I could get my better half to agree with my habbit. Just bought a P226 wednesday, and was on here looking for my next Purchase.

:confused:You say that like it's some kinda of sickness or a problem. Personally it just seems right to me:rolleyes:(In other words I do it to, but my wife has mostly given up any hope of stopping or even slowing it down.:D)

Wait until you start buying 5 or so at a time or have to buy a new safe because yours is too full. With my safe, I ran out of room for ammo, and all of my knives. Only guns and a few accessories are in my safe. Most of my mags are outside of my safe as well. My safe isn't a small one either. Eventually you forget about guns you have. From doing state background checks, I memorized my driver's license number. I don't how much I've spent on my collection, but its more than I paid for my car, I know that.

You're only at the beginning for the most part...

I wish in a way that I never bought my first gun. I cant stop either, In November it was a S&W 15-22 that I had to have, and then the accesories and scope, then in January I of course had to have another Glock, and then a few weeks ago it was a new j frame. Now Im already planning the next purchase, could be another S&W 357, another 1911, or even another Glock or Sig. There is no stopping, no matter how much money you have. If I had my way I would have two of every gun made, and even that wouldnt be enough.

What you have is some other, nameless problem. Buying guns is obviously the cure!

Had to laugh when I read this post. Just bought a new FNX9 today. I have bought a gun a month since November. Just fell in love with shooting.

I actually went to our local gun show today and walked out with nothing. I am more shocked then I have ever been and its the first time. My problem is, I like both new and old. I had to make myself walk away from an almost perfect (in my opinion) 1903. How I did that I don't know. I wanted the Phantom REAL bad too. But I have bought three pistols in the last three weeks:eek:

When it gets really bad your dealer has your drivers licence number memorized.
I finally found a cure, It's called broke.

It's nice to know your not alone, I've bought 4 so far this year, a Springfield Loaded Champion SS 1911 45, a S&W Model 64 snubbie, a Single action 22, and another LCP. I have a 31/2 inch, 4 inch, and 5 inch 1911,what's next? a 6 inch I guess lol (or maybe another revolver) decisions,decisions...

Get off the forums! Its the only way to cure the biggest part of it. We had a saying on the guitar amp forum. GAS: Gear Aquisition Syndrome. I see someone mentioned FAD: Firearms Aqcuisition Disorder. Same thing. I had 50 guitar amps before I left the forum. Now I have my 3 favorites...

We all are just too covetous lol.

I'm also addicted. And it might very well be a problem and a sickness. I have had a gun on lay-a-way at all times since I got my first gun. I'm always buying accessories. I'm always trying to buy other people's guns. I search craigslist atleast 25 times a day for someone looking to sell anything to do with guns. I've spent atleast 5 grand in the last couple months alone. I'm very happy with my purchases. I love my guns. I have the best guns out of anyone I personally know by FAR.

The problem is the amount of time I give to them. Also if I have 100 bucks left to my name, I can find a way ti justify spending it on more gun crap. I told my girl she might as well assume there will ALWAYS be a gun on layaway. She knows I'm sick, but I do take care of my family 110% and I think that's why it's ok with her. So why do I feel bad than right? Cause I tell her everything cost half of what I spent.

I have a problem I think.

If you think that is bad if you start reloading it compounds things even more. You need more supplies, and better equipment to feed them. Then you see one that you think hey that would be realy good one to reload for. Then you buy the gun, the dies, powder brass, bullets, and then primers. You work up loads and find a nice pet load for it.

Then you see an odd ball caliber priced to sell cuz it has been on the shelf for months, when people do not recognize the caliber they pick something else. You do a search and find that brass is easy to come by as well as bullets. Then you buy it with all the goodies, and start all over again.

18 gun purchases in 3 years.:D

I haven't bought a gun since last June. It's been rough lately.

Good news though. The wife just bought some new patio furniture, so I figure I've got the green light now.

I've ended my membership in the Gun Of The Month Club. Not that I want to, but I'm now restricting my spending because my dear daughter enrolled me in the Dads Pay For Weddings Club! At least that membership expires in the middle of October!

Congrats Cheapshooter. I contracted for an expensive weapon the day before my daughter told us she was getting married. It's back on the wish list...

Good luck. :D
