How's the crime in your neighborhood?

I live in an 8. Surprisingly, Ingelwood and Long Beach were 8's too. Watts and downtown L.A. were 9's. Compton is a 10

Live in an 8, work in a 6.

The 8 surprised me...I'd have guessed worse. Every other week I'm wiping gang tags off the side of my apartment building...they're generally in Spanish and the colors keep changing from red to blue and back.

That's *very* bad news. Means the Nortenios(sp?) and the Surenios(sp?) are at each other's throats.

I live in a 1 and work in a 3. However, the 3 is completely erroneous. It's a very high crime area. About two miles away is the "hood" and routine fights and shootings take place there. Cops don't even bother patroling through the "zone". A 3 though? Sorry but if I'm not packing a tank, a .50 cal, and my former squad of rangers, I wouldn't go within three blocks of that area.

Checked it out. I live in a 3, which is about right. Then I checked out the sex offender listing for the same area, ans found my dogs name!

Well fellers,and girls--I live in a nothing
crime zone--Noosa Heads Queensland Australia.
I don't rightly know why this is so--maybe
too few people?
There is the odd punch up here on a Saturday
night and a car gets swiped occasionally,but
not much more than that.
Perhaps that's why people like Tom Cruise and
Sean Connery come here for their holidays?
We do get the odd troublemaker--like Mick
Jagger but they seem to behave while they are
here.

I found it a bit hard to believe that Terlingua is a 6. Maybe dope-smuggling counts? Outside of that, we hardly have bar-fights. A little pilferage, occasional minor vandalism or relatively trivial-type burglary--but overall, rare. Lots of folks around here haven't locked a door in years.

I guess that without the dope-smuggling and periodic spates of DWI--as at Chili Cook Off--we'd rate somewhere around a 1...

Oops! Forgot! A Census nose-counter got chomped on by a fella's pet watch-javelina. Does that count?

I don't get it. My old neighborhood is a "3", and the gunfire, and the gangbangers were so bad that I did not even think of going outside without my sidearm. My new neighborhood is a "6", and I have yet to see even one "banger" or hear shot one.
