Howa 1500 in .270

My groupings are bad. 3" groups. I hit 2" high and 2" to left of center. My buddy and brother hit the center within 1". We shot 60 rounds and this was consistent. We all hear the sound.
 
is it under warranty? does it make the noise when you dry fire it? 3" groups is not good but if your buddies get consistent 1" groups there is hope for this gun. The point of impact is going to be different for different shooters, that is dependent on how they look through the scope. the group size is what I would be concerned with. There arent many parts designed to move in this gun, just in the trigger and the bolt. I have the vanguard version and think it is a good gun.
