Many people believe that the US is the best country in the world--I happen to be one of them. For now, I can honestly say that our government is not truly tyrannical and I think it has a long ways to go before it can become so. But there's a reason why it hasn't (chosen to?) become tyrannical because it can't overpower the PEOPLE of this country because the PEOPLE are ARMED. They only kill people hidden away in the forests--Randy Weaver--I don't agree with his politics, but a massacre is a massacre. Once the PEOPLE have their arms taken away, I TRULY believe that this great country will be the Founding Fathers' worst nightmares. Some people think I may be paranoid in thinking this, but then again some of these people think that a gun lock would have prevented the 6year old from killing his classmate. A sad day in American history indeed.

Let me go on record as saying that I oppose any overthrow of the United States government by violent means. Love conquers all.

On an unrelated topic, you might want to check out the .308 Remington 700 VS topped with a Leupold M4. It is very good for shooting paper targets at 500+ yards.
 
You are absolutely right John.
The question is: how many people here are really serious about defending their freedom to the death?
It is wierd, I was in a gun shop the other day buying ammo, and we started talking about the tyranny in Canada, when I started talking about resistance, the guy said that it would not happen there or here. He asked me a question "would you risk your life or freedom, or children's lives or freedom by fighting?
Before I give the answer, let me make a serious point to anyone who feels that being passive is the only way to go,
Alot pf people in Nazi Germany decided that it would be better to go along with the government rather than risk their lives or the lives of there children. Needless to say, both them and their children were later dported, imprisoned and murdered by the train load.
But the discussion did bring a thought to my mind: How many of these so called patriots are really gonna do more than talk a good fight? I am hearing all this talk about revolt and revolution, when the sad thing is, most of these people are too lazy to even go to the damn polls and vote, much less lead an armed resistance.
Each and every one of us has to come to the conclusion that one way or another we will have to put our personal comfort in jeapardi and maybe risk our very lives. It is not only about guns, it is about freedom. With organonizations like the WTO, The UN and others controlling the very way we do banking and sanctioning and starving out millions of people worldwide, we may all find ourselves much like the Jews in Germany.
If there is anyone out there who thinks that fighting is not worth it for fear of being killed, I say this. If you do not die fighting, you will no doubt be killed or imprisioned anyway. If the government doesn't kill you, the criminals it protects definately will!
I personally would rather die standing up than on my hands and knees in front of tyranny.
The answer to his question is YES I would take that chance because of that reason. That was the way this country was founded and I would rather die with my boots on rather than watch my family be killed by criminals and government tyrants all the while knowing that they are dying and being raped because I was too much of a coward to fight for the saftey of them!
This country had better wake up! and those who are armchair cammandos had better start preparing, because it all may come to that, and at that time we will see who is really with us and who the real cowards and traitors are.

As an aside, and to give credit as due, I believe the Senator providing the 'million dollars' quote was Senator Everett Dirksen. A Republican (when that meant something), and a reputation as a plain-talker, as I recall.

To all of you who are actually doing something in your own way, I salute you - hope it's effective. To the "keyboard warriors" that only bitch about turn of events - you'll probably be the first to turn in your guns for food or fear of threats.

I see a ton of folks going to town in the forums - we're so active.

However, I don't see much else actually happening. Folks write letters (editors & their politicos) which is good. Anything much happening outa that? You tell me.

An above post said that we're not yet in a tyrannical situation. Hmmm, land grabs, reintroduction of "endangered species" and subsequent loss of land use, random roadblocks (drugs or sobriety), no-knock raids, the assault on the Second, RICO provisions, Social Services abuses, Executive Orders, a spineless Congress, the farce with Clinton's impeachments, Wack/Ruby Ridge, et al - noone punished except theose intially assaulted .... I could go on, but the point's been made.

1/26/00 (not quite two scant months ago), we had a meeting - 6 or 8 folks (number hardly matters) and decided that the manner in which we were doing "our part" wasn't working. We formed what was soon known as the Tryanny Response Team. Sure, a stupid name (I thought at the onset & told 'em so). Name seems to have "a hook" to it & people like it.

However, since then, we have demonstrated in the streets & elsewhere at: CO Guv (3X), MMM (2X), SAFE/ballot initiative (1X), NRA's OProject Exile (1X), been at major CO gunshows (2X) to gather phone #s, e-mail addresses to spread the wrod, started our own webpage, many reports of successes on "the boards," networking bigtime with local gun-rights chapters, are kindred spirits to CO's SAS, kicked the butt of Congressman Mark Udall(3/18AM) at his own town meeting (he left w/head hanging), have another demo laid on in Boulder 3/21 to demo for reaffirmation of The Second in direct response to SAFE/MMM who'll demo against C. Heston, another next next day at a public gun debate at the Boulder campus & another demo 3/31 against Guv Owens. I'll be doing an on-line live chat at FR 3/23 to help spread the word re TRT. We're forming chapters across the country - they are starting to spring up. Each of the major demos has had 200-500+ in the streets. We've close to 1000 e-mail addresses currently for instant alerts to put people where & when we (all) need for an effective demo or counter.

Seems to be having a major impact - may be a stupid shot in the dark. Our personal lives have gone to hell - we don't have time for much else than this latest effort. Finances? A joke.

Postings here get little if any acknowledgement. We're "the crazies," the fringe element. Many folks at the gunshows shake their heads at us, many of the gun-rights groups badger the hell out of us because we're rocking the boat.

The damned boat has to be rocked! In case nobody noticed, the thing's sinking.

So be it.

I'll (we'll) do my (our) part, where I can and at the end, if there is one, I'll say I did all I could to prevent the further madness sure to come.

Boycot S&W, boycot Ruger and Colt and ... where will you buys your firearms when they've all caved into the relentless pressure, funded by YOUR tax dollars!

We turn this thing around or there won't be jack to fight for.

Well. Outa here. Off to another event to get still more signatures, etc. from more "crazies." Hope we few are just crazy enough ....
 
Good idea labgrade. I feel the same way. Too many armchair commandos. By the way I think the name of your organization sounds good.
Here in my home state of Pa, there are some resistance groups but i find the lack of them disturbing.
Honestly, I could care less about the fact that S&W is selling out because I have more than enough guns as it is. (how many can I shoot at one time?)
Now is time to stockpile ammo, food, drinking water and medical supplies. without them, owning alot of guns won't mean squat.
We all must take our country back one way or another!
We will do everything in our power to do it the legal way, but after that......
One way or another. That has got to be our motto. In my opinion, anyonewho is not willing to die for the freedom they have, don't deserve to have them.

Well guys, the pasifist concept is that's it's easier to have someone else do my dirty work, no matter what it'll cost me in other terms, or when.

I'm fairly convinvinced that when the BG has slipped through their window, or brazenly barged through their doors, for money, valuables to pawn, or just plain old street-gang type fun, including rape, sodomy, and murder. They'll wish to hell that you, and me and all the other Gun-Nuts were somewhere very, very near, and very armed to the teeth.
I don't know of a way to instill that type fear in their minds, unless they actually lived the experience. No mind, they've made up their minds about this, and they'll have it their way.
So be it, I only hope they're the first to get the "treatment' that's coming. Not a threat, but a reality check.
Oh, BTW, I'll still be willing to take the BG down though, for I know that if I don't, that I'm promoting his acts of terror.

I will be honest. I grow tired of fighting politicians who do no give a **** about what is right, but are HAPPY to do the WRONG or evil thing if you pay them off with money.

I grow tired of being taxed to hell and back and getting form letters back from my reps when I call or write them IF they bother to respond to me at all!

I grow tired of seeing the most important documents ever written, by man, being used as toilet paper and then being called an right wing wacko when I complain about it.

I grow tired of seeing politicians POISON the children with MTBE and then refuse to remove it from the gas, when they learn it really is as BAD as everone told them it was, because some corporation donates money to them to keep it in.

I grow tired of watching the "leaders" make new laws driven by emotion rather than from logic.

I grow tired of the government's attempts to disarme me and my family, saying that I have no right to self-defense. Stop telling me that the 2nd amendment applies to hunting and sporting only. The 2nd does NOT apply to hunting or sporting AT ALL!

I submit the following for your review: 1) We are abused by very high taxes. Over 55% when you add it all together. Income, property, sales, death, tobacco, gas, tax on other taxes.

2) We are not being represented by the "leaders". They only represent those buy their votes.

3) When the people speak at the polls (i.e.. Prop 187, Prop 5, ect.) our vote is overturned by the courts or ignored and not enforced by the gov. They do not care what the people's voice says at the polls.

4) They are not subject to the laws they pass. They have become the "ruling class" and have exempted themselves from the laws they pass on us. Keep in mind that in the US Congress:

a) 29 members have been accused of spousal abuse.
b) 7 have been arrested for fraud. c) 19 have been accused of writing bad checks.
d) 3 have been arrested for assault. e) 14 have been arrested for drug related crimes.
f) 8 have been arrested for shoplifting.
g) In 1998 alone, 84 were stopped for drunk driving.

How many of these were actualy convicted? Not many. How many did jail time? None.

Remember these words?

Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.


They do not live by our laws. They get to bounce over 900 checks and prosecutors ignore that. If YOU bounce even ONE the DA will be looking for YOU.

It is not only the RIGHT of the people to alter or abolish any government that ignores or abuses the people, but it is the DUTY of the people to alter or abolish it.

Do some research. How many of these "leaders" were arrested in the last 4 years? How many have criminal records? How many of those actualy did time? How many have operated failed bussinesses? How many would YOU trust to babysit your children or date your daughter?

Do we deserve better? What will it be like for your children in 20 years or your grandchildren in 50?

Do you doubt that ANY ONE of these ****s would not sign your death warrent for a small campaign contribution?

If you think they just pay you lip service and pick your pocket for the privilege, then I submit to you that it is time for some more drastic action.

Vote from the rooftops? No. Not yet. But the time is getting near.

It's already set up. Spread the word, hook up there, establish your lists/contacts, share your experiences & then move on.

Why reinvent the wheel?

Sorry, but this "anybody else intersted, get with me" stuff doesn't cut it any more.

Get out there & LEAD! Quit waiting for someone else to jump on your bandwagon that's not going anywhere. Push the damned wagon & once it starts rolling, others will get on it.
