How to field clean a Rifled Musket

.579 is kinda big, i have trouble with .577,s in my .58,s. in a clean bore i take several mini,s and stick one of those address labels(you get in the mail) around the bullet to keep the bullet from moving in the bore while hunting. eastbank.

There are 3 Lyman .58 caliber bullets on the linked page:

575494: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/56...mold-575494-58-caliber-575-diameter-315-grain

575213OS: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/58...s-58-caliber-575-diameter-460-grain-old-style

575213AV

Two of these are "traditional" style minie balls, the other is a semi wad cutter.

Nothing wrong with .579 at all. I've got two muskets that take a .576 bullet (custom Whitacre and Hoyt barrels), another, my Pedersoli, takes a .578. My Euroarms barrel took a .584 but never shot worth a darn.
