How To Conceal An OWB Holster ?

Crossbreed.....I've heard a lot of good things about them and one of my shooting partners has one he says he really likes. Only problem with him is he loves everything he buys until he buys something else. Guess in the interest of giving it another try, I just may try one of them puppies. Thanks for bringing up the subject. Here I go...one more time, one more holster. If this doesn't work, I'm going to sell all the other boxes of unused holsters I have to anyone else that wants to try something different.

Maybe set up a holster swap for those that have holsters that don't work for them with other people in the same boat. Cost is the price of shipping. We can help each other out in this fashion.

I learned something new today: most people wearing Hawaiian shirts are also carrying guns.
Yep. There are a few items that just scream "I have a gun!" atleast to those of us also in the gun crowd. Sometimes we are wrong, but I would guess more often than not they are wearing said item to conceal easier. Vests, hawain shirts, and fanny packs are usually indicative items.

I'm guilty of a vest in cold to cool weather, though usually one of fleece or cordaroy, not a tactical vest. Just something that I can leave on indoors w/o getting too warm (as a coat gets) that will cover my belt-line to conceal my firearm. I will carry IWB or OWB, depending on which gun I want to carry and the length of that particular vest. Sweaters and sweat-shirts work well in cooler-temps as well.

For warmer weather, an untucked sports-shirt, or even some tee's fit the bill for me, though I usually move to IWB in such cases. I have been considering a new vest, one cool enough to wear in the summer time, but can't get past the whole "I have a gun" thing many people associate with vests when you really don't need the added warmth.

For the most part, though, I will just wear a light jacket in cooler temps that I can leave on, or a sport-jacket, both of which suit me fine.

I tried IWB numerous times with numerous holsters, in numerous positions and always found it horrendously uncomfortable. Perhaps if I'd been carrying a longer barreled gun, things might have been different but my preferred summertime carry guns have always been either my Walther PP or a snubnosed revolver. The issue I had was that the end of the barrel always wanted to dig into my hip if I carried strongside and that the grip would print badly if I tried to carry crossdraw. I finally gave up on IWB and got a good quality OWB rig and haven't looked back since. What I currently carry is a S&W Model 66 with a 2 1/2" barrel in an El Paso Saddlery #88 "Street Combat" holster strongside at about 3:30 on an Oklahoma Leather 1 3/4" belt. I wear a thin "wife beater" type tank top under my shirt to keep the gun from rubbing against my bare skin and an XXL tee shirt and the gun simply disappears. I did quickly learn not to use soft rubber grips as they want to stick to my shirt and make the gun print, my revolver now wears smooth cocobolo Houges.

I wear banded short and long sleeve shirts in winter and summer, the banded hem works great, the elastic is not too tight and it seems to do a good job..
