How to conceal a handgun in your closet

Yes, that is a pretty neat idea.

So, a funny story. I am a season ticket holder for a local college football team and receive the tickets in the mail right before the season starts. At a game one year a friend mentioned he keeps his tickets in his underwear drawer. I laughed and commented that I did the same, well it turned out that all six of us did the exact same thing. So, by no means is this in anyway statistically significant, but it seemed funny that we all stored valuables in this location.

Actually, one of the first places for a burglar to look is in the underwear drawer...everybody hides things there, especially women.

To the OP; nice idea, but not much different than hanging an old coat in the closet and putting the gun in the coat pocket.

Now that idea, I like.

Everyone has an old pair of ratty jeans (that may not fit anymore), that would be perfect for this. I'd put it on a stronger wooden hanger, and you're good to go.

Brings new meaning to 'pocket carry'.

Come home to find the closet tore apart :) and blue jeans fragments all over the floor :)
 
Well, if I ever get locked in a closet I now know were to look for a gun. Really that is an excellent idea; home security and out of sight out of mind for the kids or anyone else for that matter. For years I kept a M60 in a jacket pocket hung in the entrance way guest closet.

That's a good point, Markj. I would really hate to have a bad guy break in here and stick his hands in my jeans. :rolleyes:

I learned how to use a sewing machine as a kid in a forced Home Economics class, it's been one of the best things I've ever learned... :)

Not to mention I would need to make my way to the closet to get it when my HD gun right now is mounted to my bed in a very secure container to deter theft as much as kids.
 
I've been keeping a j-frame in the cabinet over the commode ... now I think I'll switch it to the pocket of the robe that hangs inside the door of aforementioned commode ... then, when the BGs take me hostage late at night, when I'm sleeping nekkid, I'll just say, hey, let me put on my robe and they'll agree, not wanting to be caught staring at my lovely 65-year-old carcass ... then ... they're toast! besides, my wife has so much stuff hanging on the bar in the closet that anything weighing more than a butterfly would bring the entire mess crashing to the floor ...

Oooo now that would be bad, another good reson not to do that.

Another reason is this: some states have a left alone gun law, in other words leave a gun unattended and someone gets it and uses it. You will be charged in some states it is a felony. Nebr. is considering this due to a shooting recently. A policeman left his gun in a closet at home, his son grabs it takes it to school kills a educator wounds the priciple.

Keep it on your person or keep it locked up is the message I am getting here from these laws. So no closet carry for me.
