how old will be too old to shoot? no more trips to range

Not yet.

Will be 69 in Sept. - going to a rendezvous in Wyoming for five days on this Tuesday and going to the RMNR Rendezvous for eight days in July. Don't plan on quitting until I am broke up or unsafe. L O N G way from that now. But it is a little harder than it was ten years ago.

Let's see - 4 way heart by-pass in 2004, left shoulder in 2008, back fusion in 2011 and the right shoulder may last until this winter if I am lucky.

i'm 75 years old. Go to the range at least once per week. Ain't lost the touch yet: Today i fired a 5/8" five shot group at 100 meters with my Remington 700 in .222 Remington.

Good to hear. Gawd willin and the crick don't rise, I want to be snow skiing into my 80s and hunting and shooting until I croak. In fact, I plan to jump off a cliff while hunting when it's time to go, and recycle my body to nature.

I'm 64 and I still go to the range but not as often as I like due to ammo cost. I like to shoot my 40sw pistol and my 40sw carbine. I shoot at 12 yards because any further the target gets into shadow and harder to see. At least it's the good distance to stay sharp for HD/SD practice.

Also I have a red dot and a laser on the carbine so they're checked for accuracy. The red dot holds very well but the laser drifts a little but seems to be holding now (so far).

The thought of being too old/unable to shoot saddens me. At least I'm only fourteen yet. But it seriously would stink not being able to shoot any more.

At 72 mountains are changing getting little steeper and need to get up hr earlier walk up around timberline first light but still able to pack elk out on pack frame.

Range time is easy. I have to balance between archery/rifle so mornings I'm at the rifle range. I do most of my shooting during the week so more relaxed at the range. I don't think much about quitting when it happens time to worry about it.

I'm 68 and still shooting at least twice a week. I go early, at sunup, before it gets hot. I love high power and I'm planning a weekend shoot this summer with my son at the NRA Whittington Center at Raton NM. Should be interesting to see who's the better shot at 1000 yards. I still want to shoot the white buffalo, 1025 yards, for those who have been there. :D

My grandfather was hunting and going to the range into his 80s. Like most other people here, you shoot until you can't see the target anymore. With the recent advances in eye surgery the past decade or so, i can't see a reason to stop shooting.

I'm nearing 50 (yikes!) and I'm typically the youngest guy at the range by about 15 years.

LOTS of older gents in the 70's out there plinking away with a 22 or 38spl.
